NBA Rumors – Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers & San Antonio Spurs Interested in Signing Kevin Seraphin

The names on the free agency list aren’t as popping as before, but useful players attract a lot of interest. Kevin Seraphin, an undersized backup big man, might come back to the Washington Wizards, but he’s also getting interest from the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers and maybe the San Antonio Spurs.

The Spurs are going to turn to Seraphin, who is only 6’9 but mostly plays as a center, only if their bid to sign David West fails.

The rest of the teams, including the Wizards, need him as a backup big man. He averaged 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game last season, playing 15.6 minutes a night. The Wizards didn’t make a lot of use out of him during the playoffs.

Seraphin was the 17th overall pick in the 2010 draft. He has played his entire career for the Wizards, averaging 6.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. A solid back up big man, but nothing special. The Suns might be the best fit for him if he wants to be on a team that’s probably going to win next season and feel mostly involved.

After already losing Paul Pierce in this free agency, the Wizards would prefer to have as few needs to fill as possible. While Seraphin hasn’t been too necessary in their success, he does fill a role that needs to be filled, and it’s not like there are better options out there to bring in for him.
