We might see a few reunions between some fringe players and their teams of the past this offseason. One of the reunions might be between Chuck Hayes and the Houston Rockets.
The Rockets currently have 14 players signed heading into next season and might make Hayes, who has played (sparingly) for the Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings over the last couple of seasons (traded from Sacramento to Toronto in 2013), their last roster spot filler.
Hayes played for the Rockets between 2005 and 2011, giving his best season in 2010-2011, averaging 7.9 points and 8.1 rebounds while playing 28.1 minutes a night, all career highs.
Last season he played just 29 times for the Raptors, averaging 1.7 points and 1.8 rebounds in 8.8 minutes a night. Despite his listed height of 6’6, Hayes usually plays in either the power forward or center position.
According to Hayes’ agent, Calvin Andrews, there’s mutual interest between the sides.
