In an experimental lineup Bayern Munich had no problem beating Valencia 4-1 in Beijing with Thomas Muller scoring twice while Robert Lewandowski scored one of the more impressive goals we’ve seen this summer.
Muller starting as the team’s point man scored in the 16th minute and 45th, while in between Rodrigo scored once for Valencia. In the second half Thiago scored to make it 3-1 for Bayern and Lewandowski, coming off the bench, completed the victory after coming on for Muller in the 58th minute.
Mario Gotze didn’t play as his transfer to Juventus might be looming closer and closer. David Alaba and Rafinha played the entire 90 minutes, while Philipp Lahm spent most of the match in the defensive midfielder role Guardiola is so criticized for using him in.
Javi Martinez didn’t play, and the same goes for Manuel Neuer and Arjen Robben, but Douglas Costa and Xabi Alonso made it into the lineup, playing in front of 49,000 fans in China’s capital city.
