The “home” of Texas Tech University, the city of Lubbock, Texas has been ranked as the most boring city in the United States, among those with at least 100,000 inhabitants.
The rankings were made by real-estate site movoto.com, suggesting the city even sounds like a place that is lounging around doing nothing, and that really isn’t far off.
Other reasons for giving the city it’s poor ranking are culture (arts per capita ranked 73rd and the music venues per capita ranked 83rd) and the food scene (ranked dead last in the non-fast food restaurant category), although its nightlife was praised, which means ranking in the middle of the pack compared to the other cities (58th).
Four of the top 10 most boring cities were in the state of Texas, with Irving, Laredo, and Plano joining in on the prestigious list. Maybe now people won’t be surprised when Red Raiders fans act a little rowdy during home games. There’s really nothing better to do in this place.
