It’s interesting how the world of NFL memes work. The Houston Texans play the Indianapolis Colts. Matt Hasselbeck stars. Yet somehow, most of the jokes are at the expense of the Seattle Seahawks and their fans.
But that’s just a circlejerk thing. Regardless of the memory and loyalty of Seahawks fans before their current successful period, Hasselbeck played well as the Andrew Luck backup, although he didn’t do anything exceptional or memorable, nor should he have.
So what will be remembered from this game? Ryan Mallett getting benched and then looking like the saddest person in the world. Brian Hoyer looking like a good quarterback with a fluke of a hail mary that made it seem like the Texans had a chance of winning this game.
Bottom line? The Texans can’t do much this season with two dysfunctional quarterbacks. The Colts? They’re in a weak division, but that doesn’t take away from the very good situation they have at backup quarterback. in a league with more than half the teams displeased with the guy they have starting for them.
