The New Orleans Saints might be having a bad season, but some things never change: They always get to beat the Atlanta Falcons, with the memes celebrating the end of the undefeated season.
Not a terrible game for the Falcons, as Devonta Freeman keeps making anyone who has him on their fantasy team very happy. But fumbles (three of them) cost them the game, along with a blocked punt that resulted in a touchdown. The Falcons have a smooth looking offense, but turning the ball over will hurt even the best of ’em.
For the Saints, Drew Brees didn’t have to be otherworldly to get the win. He found Benjamin Watson for one touchdown, forgetting about Jimmy Graham, suffering in Seattle, for one game. Mark Ingram did most of the hard work with his short-yardage, full of effort touchdowns.
At 2-4, the Saints are still far behind both the Falcons and the Carolina Panthers in their division, but this win, almost an annual one over the Falcons in New Orleans, shows there’s still time to turn things around and catch up with a possible playoff spot.
