Not too much going on during a Tuesday night of preseason basketball. Blake Griffin looked excellent in a Los Angeles Clippers demolition of the Golden State Warriors, Paul George was terrific as the Indiana Pacers lost to the Chicago Bulls while Kevin Durant had his best game of the preseason in an Oklahoma City Thunder win over the Utah Jazz.
Indiana Pacers 94 Chicago Bulls 103: Paul George looked great with 26 points and 13 rebounds with Ian Mahinmi and Monta Ellis helping out scoring 14 points. Aaron Brooks scored 22 points off the bench for the Bulls with Nikola Mirotic helping out scoring 15. Jimmy Butler had a rough game, scoring just 12 points on 4-of-14 from the field.
Minnesota Timberwolves 88 Milwaukee Bucks 106: The most notable thing was the Bucks fans giving Tyus Jones, formerly of Duke, who beat Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament final six months ago, a very hard time. Six players scored in double figures for the Bucks, led by Khris Middleton with 17 points, Michael Carter-Williams with 16 points and Greg Monroe with 15. Shabazz Muhammad scored 18 points for the Timberwolves, although 11 came from the line.
Phoenix Suns 104 San Antonio Spurs 84: Not a very good game from the Spurs despite playing in almost full force, surprisingly shooting just 12 3-pointers, led by Kawhi Leonard with 14 while LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 9 points. Markieff Morris keeps looking great in preseason, scoring 17, backed up by T.J. Warren scoring 15.
Oklahoma City Thunder 113 Utah Jazz 102: Maybe the best the Thunder have looked all preseason, and that’s certainly true for Kevin Durant with 29 points. Russell Westbrook scored 21, Serge Ibaka finished with 16 and even Steven Adams got in on the fun with a 14-10 double double. Trey Burke led the Jazz scoring 20 points.
Golden State Warriors 95 Los Angeles Clippers 130: The Warriors keeping Stephen Curry, Andrew Bogut and Andre Iguodala out of the game meant taking the sting out of the Clippers demolishing the Warriors, which is always a bit more than a preseason game. Blake Griffin scored 29 points, Austin Rivers had 16 and J.J. Redick scored 15. Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 21.
