As the Dallas Cowboys lose for a fifth consecutive time, the memes are enjoying the Ricardo Lockette injury, the Seattle Seahawks getting the referees to help them once again and generally, the miserable state of Cowboys fans.
Matt Cassel didn’t change the Brandon Weeden damage. The Cowboys still can’t pass the ball, which makes it difficult for them to run the ball, which generally means their defense needs to win games.
Against the shaky Seahawks, the Cowboys defense did everything it needed to. Blocked a field goal, intercepted Russell Wilson, held them to 13 points. But… the offense couldn’t capitalize on those chances, scoring four field goals, that’s it, even with Bryant returning. Without a quarterback who can get the ball down the field, it doesn’t matter who the receivers are at the moment.
With the season turning into a disaster (2-5, last in the NFC East) it might not help if Tony Romo comes back before the end of the month. From the looks of things, it’s going to be too late.
