Both the Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs clinch their playoff spots while the New York Jets get closer at possibly the expense of the Pittsburgh Steelers while stunning the New England Patriots, and the Atlanta Falcons, winning games again but too late to help themselves, end the undefeated season of the Carolina Panthers.

San Diego Chargers (4-11) 20  Oakland Raiders (7-8) 23: In a game that meant nothing except for nostalgic purposes in possibly a goodbye to Oakland and Charles Woodson, the Raiders moved closer towards that rare not-losing season for them, winning in overtime on a Sebastian Janikowski field goal.

Washington Redskins (8-7) 38  Philadelphia Eagles (6-9) 24: The Redskins clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2012 with Kirk Cousins playing like the franchise quarterback they hope he is, throwing four touchdown passes and making his ‘You like that’ catchphrase even more annoying to here, as more people are suddenly using it.

Dallas Cowboys (4-11) 6  Buffalo Bills (7-8) 16: As all Cowboys games, this one was ugly, although the Cowboys did manage over 300 yards of offense for once. They simply didn’t score in the second half, as Kellen Moore completed only 13-of-31 throws. Tyrod Taylor wasn’t having an easy time as well, but a Mike Gillislee touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 50-yard run sealed the game for the Bills.

New England Patriots (12-3) 20  New York Jets (10-5) 26: A huge win for the Jets as it puts them in position to make the playoffs, going home with a smile after Eric Decker pulled down the game winning touchdown in overtime, which will be remembered for the Patriots winning the coin toss but electing to kick, setting themselves up for the loss.

Houston Texans (8-7) 34  Tennessee Titans (3-12) 6: Without Marcus Mariota, the Titans looked embarrassing against a Texans team that’s oh so close to making the postseason, with Brandon Weeden finding a new hub for himself in the league, throwing two touchdown passes and totally putting the horrible episode with the Cowboys behind him.

Cleveland Browns (3-12) 13  Kansas City Chiefs (10-5) 17: The Chiefs win a ninth game in a row to clinch a playoff spot for the second time in three years under Andy Reid, running up a 17-3 lead behind two Alex Smith touchdown passes before letting the Browns, with some impressive running from Johnny Manziel (108 rushing yards, only 136 yards on 13-of-32 with one interception when throwing) in a not so pathetic effort from the Browns.

Indianapolis Colts (7-8) 18  Miami Dolphins (5-10) 12: The Dolphins simply make their high aspirations early in the season look more and more ridiculous. The Colts? They stay alive for another week, getting two rushing touchdowns from Frank Gore and winning despite just 99 passing yards from Matt Hasselbeck, who had to leave the game while Charlie Whitehurst managed not to screw everything up.

San Francisco 49ers (4-11) 17  Detroit Lions (6-9) 32: A nice game for Matthew Stafford with 301 passing yards and two touchdowns, running away with the game in the second half, holding the 49ers to 0 points since 0:35 left in the second quarter.

Chicago Bears (6-9) 26  Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-9) 21: The Bucs keep losing while the Bears stop theirs, as four Robbie Gould field goals, a Jay Cutler touchdown pass to Ka’deem Carey and another Carey run ended the Bears three-game losing streak.

Carolina Panthers (14-1) 13  Atlanta Falcons (8-7) 20: Too late for the Falcons, who won’t make the playoffs, but at least they ruined the perfect season for the Panthers. Only one turnover from the Falcons meant they were finally playing like they should, in the game with a less-than-perfectly focused team. Matt Ryan threw a big 70-yard touchdown pass to Julio Jones to take 14-10 lead, which the Falcons only built on, never gave up on.

Pittsburgh Steelers (9-6) 17  Baltimore Ravens (5-10) 20: Ryan Mallett threw one touchdown pass and the broken and injured Ravens complicated everything for the Steelers, as Ben Roethlisberger threw a couple of interceptions while the Pittsburgh offense was being held to just 303 yards in what could mean they won’t be in the playoffs.

Jacksonville Jaguars (5-10) 27  New Orleans Saints (6-9) 38: Another opportunity for Drew Brees to put up some big numbers, throwing for 412 yards and three touchdowns as the Saints finished with 537 yards of offense.

St. Louis Rams (7-8) 23  Seattle Seahawks (9-6) 17: The Seahawks are already in the playoffs, but they didn’t expect to look this bad against a Rams team that completes the season sweep against them despite just 207 yards on offense, scoring one touchdown on a returned fumble and getting two others from a Case Keenum throw and a Todd Gurley run.

Green Bay Packers (10-5) 8  Arizona Cardinals (13-2) 38: The Cardinals sacked Aaron Rodgers 8 times in a game that didn’t mean that much to the Packers, but says something about what kind of team they are right now. The Cardinals? They can still win home field advantage, as they scored twice off of fumbles, and Carson Palmer threw two more touchdown passes.

New York Giants (6-9) 17  Minnesota Vikings (10-5) 49: The Vikings now can win the division if they beat the Packers in the final week, clinching their playoff spot while making this season even sadder for the Giants, intercepting Eli Manning three times, one of them returned for a touchdown. Teddy Bridgewater threw a touchdown pass, Adrian Peterson ran for one, but mostly the defense made mincemeat of the Giants offensive line.
