It seems Peyton Manning gets to be sort of a hero on a memes post for another time, setting himself and the Denver Broncos up with Tom Brady in the AFC Championship game once again, taking care of the injured but persistent Pittsburgh Steelers.
An ugly game which was mostly about Manning trying not to do too much and especially not turn the ball over (which he managed to avoid) while Roethlisberger, playing injured and without his best offensive players, trying to make it against a very good defense, almost doing it, but eventually failing.
Manning isn’t the player he was a year ago and certainly not two and three seasons ago, but he seems willing to change, letting the running game take over, which means not letting his ego get in the way, which was something of a problem earlier this season, “helping” him pick up his 17 interceptions.
The Steelers are going home, maybe thinking about Antonio Brown getting knocked out by Vontaze Burfict in the Wild Card round against the Cincinnati Bengals. Either way, just like last year, they finish the postseason with a loss, wondering if things could have been different had they been with all of their offensive stars healthy.
