One thing that’s been impossible to avoid after highly noticeable losses by teams in any sport is the Sad Jordan meme quickly being attached to someone on the losing team’s face. It’s happening in the NFL and the NBA, and it’s all over the NCAA Tournament.
From Baylor to Purdue, Michigan State, Texas and Kentucky, the sad Jordan is only getting started making its appearances while favorites get knocked out left and right, destroying everyone’s brackets along the way.
But that’s life. Upsets are a huge part of March Madness. Memes, making fun of teams and athletes (as long as they’re not too painful), are a great banter and way of either dealing with losses (which is hard for someone that takes sport very seriously) or an obnoxious way of gloating.
