Jeremy Lin

The San Antonio Spurs couldn’t hold on to a big lead or contain Jeremy Lin in a surprising loss to the Charlotte Hornets, while the Golden State Warriors overcame another bad shooting performance by Stephen Curry thanks to Draymond Green, his skills and his ability to do some illegal things referees ignore, and the Eastern conference playoff race is at a status quo with all four teams at 7-8-9-10 spots winning their games.

San Antonio Spurs 88  Charlotte Hornets 91: The Spurs get a little bit further away from the top spot in the West with a collapse against the Hornets. Despite holding Charlotte to just 7 points in the first quarter and opening a 23-point lead, they managed to lose the game, mostly due to the fantastic performance by Jeremy Lin with 29 points, who tends to shine when given minutes and the ball put in his hands.

Denver Nuggets 91  Cleveland Cavaliers 124: The Cavs have no idea what’s going on with LeBron James, but if he puts up these numbers, they’ll be pleased. The Cavs bounced back from their tough loss in South Beach by playing good defense and dismantling the Nuggets. James had a 33-11-11 triple double, as Cleveland finished with 38 assists.

Philadelphia 76ers 75  Indiana Pacers 91: The Sixers keep handing out wins to anyone looking for them, staying on nine victories. Paul George was bad with 4-of-16 from the field but the entire Pacers lineup scored in double figures, led by George with 15 points.

Orlando Magic 96  Boston Celtics 107: The Celtics pulled away in the second half and got another big night from their backcourt of Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley, combining to score 50 points. Kelly Olynyk, also enjoying the Zags’ run in the NCAA Tournament, finished with 22 points off the bench.

Milwaukee Bucks 91  Detroit Pistons 92: The Pistons stay on track and don’t lose sight of the Chicago Bulls thanks to Andre Drummond scoring on a tip in to win the game with 2.1 seconds left. Jerryd Bayless missed two free throws that would have given the Bucks a three point lead on the previous possession. Marcus Morris led the Pistons with 21 points, Khris Middleton had 27 for the Bucks.

Washington Wizards 117  Atlanta Hawks 102: And just like that, the Wizards are at .500 with five straight wins. John Wall scored 27 points to go with 14 assists and Bradley Beal helped out with 25 points, as the entire lineup had 14 points or more. Jeff Teague led the Hawks with 23 points.

Sacramento Kings 102  Chicago Bulls 109: The Bulls have won three straight and four of their last five, outscoring the Kings 19-7 in the final six minutes to come back from five down and win the game. Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson each had 18 points to lead the Bulls, Doug McDermott added 16 points off the bench.

Golden State Warriors 109  Minnesota Timberwolves 104: Draymond Green, with 24 points and 10-of-13 from the field made up for another rough shooting night Stephen Curry had (6-of-17 from the field), while setting a number of his notorious illegal screens (this time with shoving and not just moving) to help Golden State pull off the win. Andrew Wiggins led the Timberwolves with 25 points.

Memphis Grizzlies 103  Phoenix Suns 97: The Suns wouldn’t stop hanging on, but the Grizzlies are doing better now that Zach Randolph is playing again (14 points), while Lance Stephenson is making the most of the opportunity given to him to rescue his career, once again leading Memphis with 17 points.
