MLB Rumors: Orioles, Braves & Twins Only Teams Left With a 0 Under the Win-Loss Column

Just over a week into the 2016 MLB Season, there are three teams remaining with a zero under either the wins or losses columns: The Baltimore Orioles remain the only undefeated team, while the Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves have yet to win one.

The Orioles, following their 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays, are 5-0, opening with three wins against the Minnesota Twins and two wins against the Rays, with one game postponed. They’re not scoring a lot of runs, but they’re getting on base, with the second best batting average in the majors (.298), 5th best on base percentage (.347) and coming in second in slugging (.503). Manny Machado leads the home run charts for the team with three so far. Their pitching and defense have been superb, with a league best 1.80 ERA, posting an overall 1.04 WHIP and allowing just .211 hitting.

The Twins actually started this season with a lot of expectations. So far, playing two series on the road, they’ve been swept by the Orioles and Kansas City Royals. Their tied for 29th with just 12 runs so far, batting .223 and a .293 OBP. Their defense hasn’t been that bad, but they are giving up a lot of hits, allowing a .265 batting average.

This was always going to be a rebuilding season in Atlanta, but losing their first five games at home to the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals wasn’t part of the plan. Their offense is nonexistent with just 17 runs, batting .198 and their slugging is at a woeful .290. Pitching hasn’t been good as well, with their bullpen in complete shambles. They’re allowing a 6.65 ERA and their WHIP so far is 1.70.
