The Washington Nationals remain the only team in major league baseball with just one loss following their demolition of the Philadelphia Phillies. Both the Atlanta Braves and Minnesota Twins finally win a game, their first for the season. The Chicago White Sox enjoy a terrific performance from Chris Sale, as do the Houston Astros with Dallas Keuchel. The Los Angeles Dodgers finally figure out Madison Bumgarner.

Seattle Mariners 7  New York Yankees 1: The Yankees drop a third straight game  despite opening with a Brett Gardner home run. The Mariners scored seven runs as a response, including a two-run homer by Chris Iannetta, one precious RBI by Robinson Cano and Franklin Gutierrez coming on to pinch hit and delivering two RBIs.

Colorado Rockies 6  Chicago Cubs 1: The Cubs lost for the first time after eight straight wins while the Rockies keep their impressive offense clicking away from home. Chad Bettis (2-0, 2.95) looked good on the mound while Colorado did their scoring without home runs for a change.

Washington Nationals 9  Philadelphia Phillies 1: A sixth straight win, and the Nationals have the best record in the majors for now. Joe Ross gave up only three hits in 7.2 innings while Bryce Harper (3-for-4) knocked out his fourth home run of the season.

Milwaukee Brewers 8  Pittsburgh Pirates 4: Ryan Braun hit a two-run homer and then hit another one to provide half of the offense for the Brewers, who led 5-0 before the Pirates scored four runs to make things interesting for a very short while.

Toronto Blue Jays 3  Boston Red Sox 5: Rick Porcello looked good for the Sox with 8 strikeouts in 6.1 innings, allowing only two hits. Edwin Encarnacion was the only player on the Blue Jays to even get any hits, as they struggled all game long to manufacture any kind of offense, only scoring on his two home runs.

New York Mets 6  Cleveland Indians 5: Both teams had 14 hits, the Mets just did a little bit more with them. Four home runs split between Michael Conforto, Alejandro De Aza, Yoenis Cespedes and Neil Walker did the job. The Indians started generating offense in the 9th, coming to one run from the Mets, but Jeurys Familia eventually defused the situation.

Atlanta Braves 6  Miami Marlins 3: The Braves finally win one with reliever Alexi Ogando being their first pitcher to get a W to his name. They finally got some offense going, especially from Adonis Garcia with three RBIs and Gordon Beckham helping out, as the Braves managed to comeback from 0-3 down.

Chicago White Sox 1  Tampa Bay Rays 0: Chris Sale is having a fantastic start to the season, pitching a complete game, striking out nine, not walking anyone and giving up just two hits. He’s 3-0 with a 2.35 ERA so far. Offense? A 9th inning single by Melky Cabrera scored Jimmy Rollins. That turned out to be enough for the 8-2 White Sox.

Baltimore Orioles 11  Texas Rangers 5: The Orioles bounce back from two losses thanks to a couple of home runs from Mike Trumbo and two from Jonathan Schoop, helping the Orioles come back from 1-5 down.

Los Angeles Angels 4  Minnesota Twins 5: The Twins finally win a game, as one out for Casey Fien was enough to get the win. The Angels had a 4-2 lead after their part in the 7th. An RBI double from Eduardo Nunez, an RBI single from Joe Mauer and one from Byung Ho Park turned the game around, and stopped the losing streak.

Detroit Tigers 0  Houston Astros 1: Dallas Keuchel pitched eight scoreless innings, defending a 1-0 lead from the first, scored by Colby Rasmus bringing home George Springer.

Cincinnati Reds 3  St. Louis Cardinals 14: The Cardinals hit six home runs including two by Matt Holliday, while the sole bit of offense for the Reds also came on a home run; a three run dinger from Joey Votto.

Kansas City Royals 4  Oakland Athletics 2: Edinson Volquez looked good on the mound for the Royals while Kendrys Morales went 3-for-4 and got an RBI as the DH. Eric Hosmer hit his first home run of the season in the 9th to put the Royals out of reach for the A’s.

San Francisco Giants 3  Los Angeles Dodgers 7: The Kershaw-Bumgarner duel went the Dodgers way. Clayton Kershaw finished with six strikeouts in seven innings while giving up five hits and three runs, two of them due to wild pitches by him. Bumgarner didn’t make it out of the sixth, striking out seven but also getting scored on almost at will. Enrique Hernandez did most of the damage with two home runs.

Arizona Diamondbacks 3  San Diego Padres 2: Zack Greinke looked good for almost 8 complete innings but didn’t get the win (went to Daniel Hudson), while a RBI from Nick Ahmed evened things in the 7th, followed by Phil Gosselin turning an infield single into him getting to first and a game winning RBI.
