Minnesota Wild Making the Prince Emblem Part of Their Arena

Since the death of Prince earlier this week, we’ve seen a number of tributes made by Minnesota teams to honor the musician. One of the more impressive ways was done by the Minnesota Wild, making him a permanent part of their Xcel Energy Center arena.

The Wild, in the middle of a playoff run (currently down 2-3 against the Dallas Stars in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals), dedicated a portion of their arena to the Minneapolis born musician by featuring his logo over a section of seats, right next to the state of Minnesota.

Prince was found dead on the morning of April 21, when a 911 call telling emergency services to come to his home at Paisley Park. The caller initially told the dispatcher that Prince was unconscious, then moments later said he was dead.

He was 57 when he passed away, and has sold over 100 million records worldwide.
