The Chicago White Sox keep looking like the best team in the American League, the Washington Nationals drop a second consecutive game and the New York Mets march forward with a sixth consecutive win thanks to the home run prowess of Neil Walker.

San Diego Padres 9  San Francisco Giants 13: The Giants got going early with three runs, the Padres responded with four, but in the next three innings San Francisco scored nine runs to take over and win the game. Brandon Belt finished with 5 RBIs, finishing with 3-for-4 and two runs.

Philadelphia Phillies 3  Washington Nationals 0: Jeremy Hellickson struck out 8 in seven innings of shutting out the Nationals, while the Phillies added runs in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings, including a home run from Carlos Ruiz to cap off the scoring.

Chicago White Sox 4  Toronto Blue Jays 0: A sixth straight win for the White Sox, as Jose Quintana struck out 10 in six innings to improve his record to 3-1 with a 1.47 ERA. The White Sox scored late with Dioner Navarro and Austin Jackson getting RBIs off triples.

Atlanta Braves 4  Boston Red Sox 9: A nice day on the mound for Steven Wright with eight k’s in seven innings, while Dustin Pedroia hit two home runs, including a grand slam. David Ortiz added two RBIs, reaching 16 this season.

Oakland Athletics 4  Detroit Tigers 9: Same score as the previous game we wrote about, as both teams are now even at .500. Justin Verlander got the win in a less than impressive start thanks to J.D. Martinez and Victor Martinez hitting home runs.

Cincinnati Reds 2  New York Mets 5: Matt Harvey gave up seven hits in six innings but also struck out seven while giving up two runs. Meanwhile, Neil Walker hit home run number nine for him this season and Michael Conforto picked up two RBIs with a late, scoring double.

Baltimore Orioles 3  Tampa Bay Rays 1: Chris Tillman looked great on the mound with 6.2 innings of just two hits, two walks and nine strikeouts. A three-run homer by Joey Rickard did the rest.

New York Yankees 2  Texas Rangers 3: Martin Perez gave a solid performance for the Rangers on the mound and the Rangers won the game in the sixth innings, as Elvis Andrus’ single scored Rougned Odor.

Pittsburgh Pirates 9  Colorado Rockies 8: The two teams combined for 33 hits and five home runs, including number nine for Trevor Story and Nolan Arenado. The game ended in the 12th inning as a Jordy Mercer double scored Gregory Polanco.

Cleveland Indians 6  Minnesota Twins 5: The Twins led 3-0 and also scored the final two runs of the game, including home run number five for Byung-Ho Park. However, in between all of that the Indians stored enough runs to pick up the win, Francisco Lindor responsible for three RBIs.

St. Louis Cardinals 11  Arizona Diamondbacks 4: Aledmys Diaz hit a solo home run and Adam Wainwright got himself three RBIs on a triple by the pitcher in an offensive onslaught from the Cardinals, getting 14 hits on the day.

Kansas City Royals 2  Los Angeles Angels 4: The Royals got plenty of hits but were 0-for-7 with runners in scoring positions. The Angels won on home runs by Mike Trout, Yunel Escobar and Andrelton Simmons.

Houston Astros 7  Seattle Mariners 4: Robinson Cano and Adam Lind hit home runs for the losing side while Jose Altuve hit one of his own for Houston, enjoying three RBIs by Evan Gattis including a double off a deep hit to center in the 7th giving Houston a four-run lead.

Miami Marlins 2  Los Angeles Dodgers 0: Justin Nicolino gave up only two hits in 7.1 innings for the Marlins as the Dodgers kept swinging and missing, finishing the game with two hits. The Marlins did their scoring in the first, with RBIs by Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna.
