The Washington Nationals are picking up steam, the Chicago White Sox finally beat the Baltimore Orioles and the New York Mets, Pittsburgh Pirates and Miami Marlins remain the hottest thing in major league baseball right now.

Detroit Tigers 4  Minnesota Twins 1: Jordan Zimmermann improves to 5-0 with an 0.55 ERA after striking out 7 in 7 innings. Offense came from Victor Martinez and Nick Castellanos, both with a couple of hits, but especially a Justin Upton three-run homer.

Washington Nationals 6  St. Louis Cardinals 1: Joe Ross looked solid on the mound, improving to 3-0 with an 0.79 ERA, while Daniel Murphy and especially Jayson Werth delivered the offense, including four RBIs from the outfielder.

Houston Astros 0  Oakland Athletics 2: Great 6.2 innings shutout by Jesse Hahn, allowing only three hits. A Billy Burns single scored the two runs for the A’s.

San Francisco Giants 5  New York Mets 6: The 8th straight win for the Mets, getting home runs from Michael Conforto and Wilmer Flores (first of the season for him). Neil Walker added two more RBIs to his collection, making it to 19 this season so far.

Toronto Blue Jays 3  Tampa Bay Rays 4: Xavier Cedeno pitched for the Rays as they turned things around late in the game: First with a home run by Logan Forsythe in the 7th to tie the game at 3-3, and then a Curt Casali single in the 9th to win the game.

Chicago White Sox 8  Baltimore Orioles 7: The White Sox stop the losing despite Mat Latos getting hit 11 times during the five innings he was on. In a game with plenty of lead changes and offense, the White Sox grabbed a 7-5 lead in the 8th after a Todd Frazier home run. A Chris Davis double evened the score, but a Jose Abreu single in the 9th scored Adam Eaton, winning the game.

Cleveland Indians 3  Philadelphia Phillies 4: Phillies win number five in a row, mostly thanks to Freddy Galvis with a home run, two hits and overall two RBIs, including the game winner in the 7th inning of a single.

Cincinnati Reds 1  Pittsburgh Pirates 5: A sixth straight win for the Pirates, as Francisco Liriano picked up the win off of six strikeouts and one run allowed, while the offense felt very comfortable, especially Sean Rodriguez, coming in to pinch hit and getting a two-run homer.

New York Yankees 0  Boston Red Sox 8: The problems continue for the Yankees, while the Red Sox celebrate. Rick Porcello is 5-0 with a 2.76 ERA following his start, while David Ortiz hit home run number five this season. Mookie Betts finished with 3 RBIs on a double and an infield single.

Miami Marlins 7  Milwaukee Brewers 5: The Marlins offense keeps ticking, getting home runs from Derek Dietrich, Adeiny Hechavarria, Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna.

Los Angeles Angels 2  Texas Rangers 7: Derek Holland allowed four hits in six innings while Matt Shoemaker, during his turn on the mound, carried on with his awful season. Mitch Moreland hit a three-run homer for the Rangers.

Colorado Rockies 5  Arizona Diamondbacks 2: Chris Rusin struck out six in five innings and Trevor Story drove in three runs with a double and a triple. He now has 20 RBIs this season.

San Diego Padres 5  Los Angeles Dodgers 2: The Padres had a 2-0 lead until a two-run homer by Chase Utley. However, the Padres kept attacking, getting a tiebreaking double from B.J. Upton and another RBI from Alexei Ramirez.

Kansas City Royals 0  Seattle Mariners 6: Wade Miley played all nine innings, giving up just five hits while striking out four (no walks) as both Seth Smith and Kyle Seager hit home runs to kick off the easy win.
