The Chicago Cubs keep beating everything in their way, while the Chicago White Sox and Seattle Mariners move up in the world of AL teams.

Washington Nationals 5  Chicago Cubs 8: The Cubs win their sixth in a row in a game with a few lead changes, eventually taking control in the 7th, as Addison Russell double scored two to break a 5-5 tie, followed by a Ben Zobrist single to finish the rally.

Boston Red Sox 2  New York Yankees 8: Fantastic game from Nathan Eovaldi, striking out six in eight innings, while Carlos Beltran, Austin Romine and Didi Gregorius took care of the offense.

Oakland Athletics 8  Baltimore Orioles 4: The A’s had 15 hits in the game, with Marcus Semien bringing the bulk of the offense, picking up three RBIs, including a two run homer. Jed Lowrie had three hits and two RBIs as well.

Oakland Athletics 2  Baltimore Orioles 5: The second half of the double header went the Orioles way, dominated by Ubaldo Jimenez pitching for eight innings, striking out 6, and the 8th home run of the season by Chris Davis.

Los Angeles Dodgers 6  Toronto Blue Jays 2: Clayton Kershaw had himself another strong performance, striking out 10 in seven innings, although he was hit eight times. Adrian Gonzalez had two RBIs; both Joc Pederson and Justin Turner hit a home run.

Texas Rangers 10  Detroit Tigers 5: The Rangers made the most of every hit they got, while the Tigers were just 2-for-9 with runners in scoring positions. Adrian Beltre stood out with a couple of home runs, finishing with four RBIs.

Pittsburgh Pirates 4  St. Louis Cardinals 6: An interesting finish with the Pirates tying things up in the ninth inning, followed by the Cardinals responding and winning off of a home run by Matt Carpenter.

Colorado Rockies 1  San Francisco Giants 2: A wasteful day by the Rockies who got 12 hits but were 1-for-8 with runners in scoring positions. Johnny Cueto lasted for almost nine innings, not allowing a single run, just like Jon Gray who shut out the Giants in seven. The first runs came in the 10th, and the winner came in the 13th by Matt Duffy.

Kansas City Royals 7  Cleveland Indians 0: Ian Kennedy allowed only four hits in seven innings while striking out six, improving to 4-2 with a 2.13 ERA. Kendrys Morales had four RBIs, including one two-run homer.

Minnesota Twins 2  Chicago White Sox 7: Chris Sale struck out nine in seven innings, improving to 7-0 with a 1.79 ERA, while Todd Frazier hit his 8th home run of the season and added another RBI with a shallow double.

Arizona Diamondbacks 4  Atlanta Braves 2: Shelby Miller finally picks up his first win, and against his former team as it turns out. Brandon Drury finished with three hits and an RBI, with the Diamondbacks coming from behind to win with Drury’s double and another RBI off a Welington Castillo infield single.

Milwaukee Brewers 13  Cincinnati Reds 7: The two teams entered extra innings with it tied at 6, but Aaron Hill blasted a grand slam home run (had three homers overall in the game), followed by a double from Jonathan Villar, scoring two.

Seattle Mariners 3  Houston Astros 2: Nathan Karns struck out nine in six innings but didn’t get the win. The game was tied at 2-2 at the end of the ninth inning. Robinson Cano hit the game winner in the 10th, his 11th home run of the season and second of the day.

Philadelphia Phillies 4  Miami Marlins 3: The Marlins led by two runs after the sixth, but the Phillies took over in the 8th with Odubel Herrera, Cesar Hernandez and Maikel Franco scoring the winning RBIs.

New York Mets 6  San Diego Padres 3: The Mets scored four home runs in the game, and the Padres had one of their own. But the biggest news was Bartolo Colon hitting his first career home run.

Tampa Bay Rays 4  Los Angeles Angels 2: The Rays won the game in the 9th thanks to Logan Forsythe hitting a single to center which scored two runners. Erasmo Ramirez in middle relief got the win, improving to 6-1 this season with a 1.32 ERA.
