The Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins split their doubleheader, the Chicago Cubs kept on showing why they’re the best team in Baseball, while the Baltimore Orioles extended their winning streak to seven games.

Pittsburgh Pirates 2  Chicago Cubs 8: Another terrific Jake Arrieta performance, striking out 11 on his way to 7-0 this season with a 1.29 ERA. Offense came from Addison Russell with a home run and Anthony Rizzo, hitting a three-run homer.

Houston Astros 5  Boston Red Sox 6: A win with David Ortiz written all over it, taking the Red Sox from three runs behind to extra innings victory thanks to a home run, a ninth inning triple that scored Xavier Bogaerts and an 11th inning double that scored Bogaerts again.

Chicago White Sox 1  New York Yankees 2: The Yankees finally get a chance to use their bullpen big three: Betances, Miller and Chapman, all in the same game. Only five hits for the Yankees were enough, with Aaron Hick and Didi Gregorius hitting the RBIs that made the difference.

Miami Marlins 4  Washington Nationals 6: Stephen Strasburg struck out seven in six innings to make it 6-0 for him this season, while Wilson Ramos stood out on the offensive side with a home run.

Miami Marlins 7  Washington Nationals 1: Bryce Harper didn’t play in this one, and the Marlins were all over Tanner Roark. Justin Bour hit a home run, Marcell Ozuna and J.T. Realmuto both had a couple of RBIs.

Minnesota Twins 6  Cleveland Indians 3: A pretty good start for Ervin Santana, picking up his first win of the season, while a two-run homer from Juan Centeno made most of the difference offensively.

Oakland Athletics 0  Tampa Bay Rays 6: Matt Andriese blanks the A’s, allowing only two hits through nine innings while striking out five. Brad Miller hit a two run homer, Brandon Guyer finished with two RBIs as well.

Detroit Tigers 3  Baltimore Orioles 9: Jonathan Schoop hit a couple of home runs, Matt Wieters and Adam Jones hit one each in an impressive offensive performance by the AL East leaders.

Cincinnati Reds 3  Philadelphia Phillies 4: Aaron Nola struck out nine in an impressive performance, while Odubel Herrera finished with two RBIs, including one coming off of a solo homer.

San Diego Padres 8  Milwaukee Brewers 7: The Padres scored two home runs in the 12th inning thanks to Derek Norris and Melvin Upton Jr., making Jonathan Lucroy’s homer in the bottom of the inning not matter.

Atlanta Braves 5  Kansas City Royals 0: Mike Foltynewicz pitched eight innings and struck out four while shutting out the Royals. Offense came from the bats of Kelly Johnson and A.J. Pierzynski.

Toronto Blue Jays 5  Texas Rangers 6: Home runs from Troy Tulowitzki and Justin Smoak sent the game into extra innings, a walk off home run from Drew Stubbs in the 10th finished the game.

New York Mets 4  Colorado Rockies 7: The Rockies got going early, scoring all seven runs within the first three innings. D.J. LaMahieu, Tony Wolters and Charlie Blackmon had two RBIs each.

San Francisco Giants 5  Arizona Diamondbacks 3: Jake Peavy didn’t get a win, but at least he had himself a quality start, allowing just one run in six innings. The game was tied at 3-3 going into the ninth, but Buster Posey helped two runners score with a ground rule double.

Los Angeles Angels 9  Seattle Mariners 7: The Angels had a 6-2 lead in the 8th disappear with a rally that Robinson Cano started, giving the Mariners a 7-6 lead going into the ninth. Albert Pujols stepped up, hitting a three-run homer, giving the Angels the lead which was held by Joe Smith.

St. Louis Cardinals 3  Los Angeles Dodgers 5: Scott Kazmir lasted for 8.2 innings while striking out 7, until giving up a three-run homer, then making way for Kenley Jansen to pick up his 13th save. Adrian Gonzalez and Corey Seager hit home runs for the Dodgers.
