While the Chicago Cubs go back to their losing ways against the Miami Marlins, the Texas Rangers keep hurting the Boston Red Sox, the San Francisco Giants get on the winning trail again, and the hottest team in baseball, the Cleveland Indians, keeps beating up everyone in sight.

Minnesota Twins 7  New York Yankees 1: The Twins finally beat the Yankees, with Tyler Duffey allowing only two hits in 8 innings while striking out 8. Meanwhile, the Twins couldn’t stop hitting home runs, with Danny Santana, Brian Dozier, Trevor Plouffe, Max Kepler, Eduardo Nunez and Juan Centeno each getting one.

Chicago Cubs 1  Miami Marlins 6: The Cubs keep sinking (and not panicking) while Jose Fernandez struck out 13, giving up only four hits in 7 innings. The game was tied at 1-1 heading into the 6th, but an Adeiny Hechavarria ground out turning into a run busted things open, followed by Martin Prado turning a double into three RBIs.

Cleveland Indians 9  Detroit Tigers 3: The Indians win their ninth in a row while making Justin Verlander miserable, as he gave up five home runs in 4.2 innings. Juan Uribe, Tyler Naquin, Mike Napoli and Lonnie Chisenhall forced him off the mound, while Josh Tomlin improved to 9-1.

San Diego Padres 0  Cincinnati Reds 3: After struggling with the Padres, the Reds finally beat him while retiring Pete Rose’s jersey. Anthony DeSclafani pitched for 8 innings, shutting out the Padres, striking out 5 and giving up only 5 hits. Jay Bruce, on the trading block, hit his 17th home run of the season.

Tampa Bay Rays 5  Baltimore Orioles 12: Life continues to be miserable for the Rays, now losing 11 games in a row. Chris Davis hit a grand slam home run and Mike Trumbo belted home run number 22 for him this season, with the Orioles winning 5 in a row.

New York Mets 2  Atlanta Braves 5: A Freddie Freeman home run in the first inning set the tone for the Braves win, with Bud Norris allowing only four hits and striking out 8 in his 7-inning start. Adonis Garcia also hit a home run for Atlanta.

Toronto Blue Jays 2  Chicago White Sox 5: Amid trade rumors, Chris Sale struck out 7 batters in 8 innings, with the two home runs he gave up not enough to stop the White Sox from winning. Tim Anderson and J.B Shuck hit home runs, with the Chisox going back to .500.

Washington Nationals 3  Milwaukee Brewers 2: The losing streak is over thanks to Tanner Roark with 7 k’s in 7 innings, while offense came from Clint Robinson with a two-run homer and one from Jose Lobaton, his first of the season.

Houston Astros 1  Kansas City Royals 6: The Royals finally stop the bleeding, as Ian Kennedy struck out 11 while allowing 3 hits. Kendrys Morales hit two home runs and Cheslor Cuthbert added another to stop the losing streak.

Boston Red Sox 2  Texas Rangers 6: A second straight win for the Rangers over Boston, with Prince Fielder hitting a home run and Adrian Beltre adding two RBIs off of two hits. Boston drop to four games behind Baltimore in the AL East.

Oakland Athletics 6  Los Angeles Angels 7: Two teams on the trading block, with the Angels rallying from four runs down for the win, capped off by Jefry Marte hitting a sacrifice fly. Mike Trout played a big part with a two-run homer in the 7th.

Philadelphia Phillies 7  San Francisco Giants 8: A whole lot of offense that ended with a walk off double by Conor Gillaspie, scoring Ramiro Pena to win the game.

St. Louis Cardinals 11  Seattle Mariners 6: The Cardinals bust out with six home runs to finish the game, including two for both Matt Carpenter and Thomas Pham, outscoring the Mariners 10-3 after the third inning.

Arizona Diamondbacks 7  Colorado Rockies 9: After the sixth inning the Diamondbacks had a one run lead, but a Trevor Story solo homer tied the game, and Mark Reynolds kicked off the walk-off celebrations with a two-run homer in the ninth.

Clayton Kershaw 3  Pittsburgh Pirates 4: Clayton Kershaw loses for only the second time this season, as his ability to avoid walks and strike out players abandoned him in this game. Adam Frazier with a two-RBI single and David Freese with a two-RBI double did the work.
