The Cincinnati Reds hand the Chicago Cubs another lose, the Texas Rangers do very well, as usual, against the Boston Red Sox, the San Francisco Giants have their bullpen collapse against the Colorado Rockies, and the Cleveland Indians extend their lead in the AL Central with a win over the Detroit Tigers.

Milwaukee Brewers 5  Washington Nationals 2: Second straight loss for the Nationals, with Hernan Perez and Aaron Hill both hitting two run homers to help a strong performance by Zach Davies, while the Nationals wasted away the 12 hits they got.

Atlanta Braves 1  Philadelphia Phillies 5: The Phillies hit four home runs and a sacrifice fly in their win, with Maikel Franco reaching number 16 this season, and Zach Eflin throwing a complete game, striking out six in 9 innings.

Kansas City Royals 3  Toronto Blue Jays 8: 4th win in a row for Toronto, third straight loss for the Royals. Josh Donaldson hit two home runs and Troy Tulowitzki hit a three-run homer as the big hitting by the Blue Jays put them only 2.5 games behind the Orioles in the AL East.

Cincinnati Reds 9  Chicago Cubs 5: The Cubs struggles continue, with John Lackey up to five games without a win and Joe Maddon getting ejected. A two-run homer by Jay Bruce in the 9th inning made sure the Cubs won’t come back in their final attempt.

Texas Rangers 7  Boston Red Sox 2: The Rangers stop the losing amid all their pitching woes, with a three-run homer by Robinson Chirinos making most of the difference. A.J. Griffin started but didn’t make it out of four winnings. Cesar Ramos in relief got the win.

Detroit Tigers 1  Cleveland Indians 12: The Indians now have a 7.5 game lead over the Tigers and 8 over the Royals, with home runs from Carlos Santana and Tyler Naquin providing some fuel to the offense. Lonnie Chisenhall had four hits and three RBIs, while Carlos Carrasco allowed 3 hits in 6 innings, striking out 5.

Miami Marlins 5  New York Mets 2: Wei Yin Chen gets the win (5-3, 4.83 ERA) and Giancarlo Stanton hits two home runs to get all five RBIs for Miami, ruining the return of Jose Reyes, who went 0-for-4 while striking out once.

Los Angeles Angels 13  Tampa Bay Rays 5: C.J. Cron has another two-home run game in the same week, and even a bad start from Tim Lincecum doesn’t get in the way of the Angels winning.

Pittsburgh Pirates 5  St. Louis Cardinals 2: Eric Fryer gets three RBIs off of a single and a double, as the Pirates come back from going 0-2 down to beat the Cards for a second straight time, and extend their winning streak to six games.

New York Yankees 9  Chicago White Sox 0: The Yankees hit a season-high 20 times, including home runs for Chase Headley and Austin Romine, while the shutout came from Masahiro Tanaka (6-2, 3.12 ERA) and Chasen Shreve in the 1.1 innings relief.

Oakland Athletics 4  Minnesota Twins 11: Marcus Semien and Danny Valencia hit home runs for the A’s, but that drowned in a sea of Twins hits, including home runs from Miguel Sano, Kennys Vargas and Max Kepler, while Tommy Milone got his first win of the season.

Seattle Mariners 2  Houston Astros 5: The Astros hit three home runs to score all five runs, with Colby Rasmus the one who gave them the lead. Dallas Keuchel (6-9, 5.02 ERA) got the win, striking out six in six innings.

San Diego Padres 5  Arizona Diamondbacks 7: Just over 14,000 came to see the disappointing D-Backs beat the Padres, the smallest attendance ever inside Chase Field. A three-run homer by Rickie Weeks Jr. gave the Diamondbacks a lead in the third inning, and after the Padres tied things up, Paul Goldschmidt with a sacrifice fly gave Arizona another lead, which they didn’t drop.

Baltimore Orioles 4  Los Angeles Dodgers 1: The Dodgers struck first, but Jonathan Schoop tied the game, before a three-run homer by Manny Machado closed it, while Chris Tillman improved to 11-2 this season.

Colorado Rockies 7  San Francisco Giants 3: The Giants began with two runs off of Brandon Belt at-bats, but then conceded 7 straight, just after they took off Madison Bumgarner. Mike Arenado hit a three-run homer, and the Rockies didn’t look back.
