Daniel Murphy Nationals Mets

The San Francisco Giants keep beating up on the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Texas Rangers are stunned by the Minnesota Twins, and the Washington Nationals, with a terrific day for Daniel Murphy, continue to dominate the New York Mets.

Chicago Cubs 6  Pittsburgh Pirates 12: A fifth straight loss for the Cubs, keeping up with the Pirates until the 4th inning, but then left behind after a grand slam home run by Josh Bell, followed by another home run from Jordy Mercer.

Detroit Tigers 3  Toronto Blue Jays 2: The Tigers stop the Blue Jays win streak with a 7th inning home run by Victor Martinez, and Francisco Rodriguez, with his 24th save this season, made sure the small lead didn’t slip away.

Atlanta Braves 4  Chicago White Sox 5: A great day for Todd Frazier, hitting a two-run homer to open scoring for the ChiSox, and ending it with an RBI double. With 25 home runs this season, he’s tied for second in all of major league baseball.

St. Louis Cardinals 8  Milwaukee Brewers 1: Rough day for the Brewers, managing only 4 hits, getting struck out 11 times by Carlos Martinez. Jhonny Peralta, Thomas Pham and Aledmys Diaz hit home runs for the Cardinals.

Los Angeles Angels 2  Baltimore Orioles 3: Mark Trumbo opened things with his 28th home run, but after the Angels took a 2-1 lead in the sixth, it was was Jonathan Schoop with a run after a balk, and then the game winning RBI single in the 8th.

Tampa Bay Rays 1  Boston Red Sox 4: Rick Porcello improves to 11-2 (3.66 ERA), Xander Bogaerts hit his 10th home run of the season, and Dustin Pedroia got two RBIs as well with a single to left center in the 5th.

Arizona Diamondbacks 2  San Francisco Giants 4: A third straight win for the Giants, this time without anything special from their starting pitcher, which isn’t surprising considering it’s Jake Peavy. The Giants took the lead for good in this game off a two-run homer by Grant Green.

New York Yankees 7  Cleveland Indians 6: Impressive hitting from the Yankees against Danny Salazar and Tommy Hunter later in the game, winning on a 11th inning double by Brian McCann, while Didi Gregorius continues his fantastic form with a two-run homer.

Oakland Athletics  Houston Astros 2: Stephen Vogt hitting a home run and a single was enough to provide the A’s with the cushion to beat the Astros, struggling against Kendall Graveman.

Cincinnati Reds 2  Miami Marlins 4: Martin Prado has three hits, finishing with two RBIs, and Giancarlo Stanton kept the good times going with an 8th inning RBI single, improving to 48 this season.

Seattle Mariners 3  Kansas City Royals 5: A three-run homer by Kyle Seager kept the Mariners in a bad game for them, but Cheslor Cuthbert hitting an RBI single and a home run by Salvador Perez made everything alright for the defending World Series champions.

San Diego Padres 3  Los Angeles Dodgers 4: Brandon McCarthy continues to do a good job following his return from injury, relying on the offense delivered by Howie Kendrick and Adrian Gonzalez.

Washington Nationals 6  New York Mets 1: Another huge day for Daniel Murphy against his former team, finishing with four RBIs, including an RBI single, RBI double and a two-run homer to cap things off. Max Scherzer helped with 9 strikeouts in 7 innings.

Philadelphia Phillies 3  Colorado Rockies 8: After a two-run start by Philadelphia, the Rockies hopped on the momentum with a two-run homer by their pitcher, Tyler Anderson, who also got his first win of the season.

Minnesota Twins 8  Texas Rangers 6: It’s always surprising to see the Twins win. Eduardo Nunez and Eddie Rosario hit home runs for the worst team in the AL, enjoying a wasteful day by the Rangers offense, who had a good start, and only got going again when it was too late.
