The San Francisco Giants keep on winning with a brilliant, one-hitter performance by Madison Bumgarner, while the Chicago Cubs finally break their losing streak thanks to a late RBI single by Kris Bryant against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Detroit Tigers 1  Toronto Blue Jays 6: The Blue Jays get the Tigers back with some solid pitching from R.A. Dickey through 7 innings, and mostly a three-run homer by Josh Donaldson, who has 23 long balls this season.

Chicago Cubs 6  Pittsburgh Pirates 5: After five consecutive losses, the Cubs are back in business, winning thanks to a Kris Bryant single in the 8th. Albert Almora Jr. helped out with a two-run homer in the 4th.

Washington Nationals 3  New York Mets 2: The Nationals continue to beat up the Mets, this time against Steven Matz, with Daniel Murphy continuing his scorching form, hitting a two run homer to start the game, his 17th of the season. Jose Reyes hit two home runs to mark his best game since joining the Mets.

New York Yankees 11  Cleveland Indians 7: Two in a row for the Yankees against the AL Central leaders, and back to .500. Jacoby Ellsbury hitting a three-run homer in the 2nd really set the tone for the rest of the day, as the Yankees scored 7 more runs in the fourth and fifth innings.

Cincinnati Reds 3  Miami Marlins 7: The Marlins complete a sweep of the Reds, as Giancarlo Stanton hits his 20th home run of the season, a two run homer that put the Marlins back in the lead (for good this time) in the 5th inning.

Los Angeles Angels 2  Baltimore Orioles 4: After giving the Orioles more trouble than expected in this series, the Angels couldn’t keep up with Chris Tillman (allowed only 3 hits in 7 innings), while both Chris Davis and J.J. Hardy hit home runs.

Tampa Bay Rays 0  Boston Red Sox 4: It’s been awhile since David Price has shut anyone down, striking out 10 in 8 innings. Brad Ziegler made an appearance after arriving from the Arizona Diamondbacks, and David Ortiz, with a two-run homer, hit his 22nd of the season.

Atlanta Braves 2  Chicago White Sox 0: Mike Foltynewicz gave a surprisingly strong performance, shutting out the White Sox in 7 innings while striking out 10 batters. Jeff Francoeur and Jace Peterson both hit home runs.

St. Louis Cardinals 5  Milwaukee Brewers 1: The Cardinals enjoy two home runs from Matt Adams and Randal Grichuk, while Mike Leake did a great job with 10 k’s in 7 innings of work.

Oakland Athletics 1  Houston Astros 2: A double by Evan Gattis in the 9th inning sent the game into extra innings, followed by a throwing error by Danny Valencia, which allowed Carlos Correa to move forward, and Jake Marisnick to reach home for the walk-off win.

Seattle Mariners 8  Kansas City Royals 5: The Mariners scored 8 runs through the 7th inning before the Royals got on the board, as Robinson Cano hit a two-run homer, followed by Adam Lind hitting a three-run homer to make them impossible to reach.

Minnesota Twins 15  Texas Rangers 5: The Twins are on one of those rare winning streaks, including four home runs, and one special grand slam by Max Kepler.

San Diego Padres 1  Los Angeles Dodgers 3: The Dodgers beat the Padres for the third time in a row, as Kenta Maeda has an absolute gem, including only two hits and striking out 13 through 7 innings. Adrian Gonzalez hit his 7th home run of the season to close the scoring in the game.

Philadelphia Phillies 10  Colorado Rockies 3: Cameron Rupp had a strong day with four hits, one home run and four RBIs. He got help from Maikel Franco with his 18th home run of the season, a three-run bomb.

Arizona Diamondbacks 0  San Francisco Giants 4: The Giants win number 4 in a row, the D-Backs lose their fourth in a row. Madison Bumgarner throws a complete game, allowing just one hit while striking out 14 and walking only one. Buster Posey and Brandon Crawford did the offensive damage.
