It’s an old argument about Rugby and American Football – Which is the tougher sport, where is the hitting harder, pads and protection against going commando. Here are the best rugby hits we could find to state Rugby’s case. We’ll be following up soon with the NFL’s answer.

  1. FYI – the Dwyer hit on Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is Rugby League not Rugby Union! Oh and P.S. Jared got back up and played on

    • @Lisa It doesn’t say that the hit is Rugby Union, we mentioned it’s from the NRL. Got up or not, huge hit. Got any recommendations on some that didn’t make it into the list so we can expand it?

  2. I think the point Lisa was trying to make was that union and league are two completely different games, despite a shared origin. It seems silly to compare American football to rugby union and then add a tackle from a completely different sport to make the case.
