NBA Summer League – Round of 16 Scores & Standouts

NBA Summer League

The star of the Summer League, Jordan McRae, kept going off on huge offensive splurges, showing off against the Los Angeles Lakers alongside Key Felder for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tyus Jones also looked good for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and so did Bobby Portis for the Chicago Bulls.

Atlanta Hawks 60  Washington Wizards 71: Another strong game for Kelly Oubre jr., finishing with 22 points, but four turnovers, unable to shake his more annoying habits. Brandon Ashley led the Hawks with 12 points, Bryce Cotton helped out with 11.

Minnesota Timberwolves 89  Memphis Grizzlies 85: A fantastic game for Tyus Jones, scoring 26 points and adding 10 assists, shining once more for Minnesota. Levi Randolph led the Grizzlies with 26 points, Andrew Harrison helped with 16.

Miami Heat 74  Phoenix Suns 77: Tyler Ulis has been the best of the draft picks for the Suns in the Summer League, scoring 20 points on this occasion, while Dragan Bender had another rough shooting game (3-for-13) to finish with 10 points. Victor Rudd led the Heat with 24 points, and Miami were probably pleased with Briante Weber scoring 14 point to go with 7 rebounds.

Philadelphia 76ers 84  Brooklyn Nets 87: The Nets lineup filled with “veterans” looked good, as Sean Kilpatrick led them with 24 points, helped out by Chris McCullough and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, both scoring 13 points.

Utah Jazz 60  Denver Nuggets 80: The Nuggets keep leaning on their backcourt for wins, as Jamal Murray scored 20 points, while Jimmer Fredette didn’t help himself with a 12-point performance, shooting just 3-for-11 from the field.

Dallas Mavericks 73  Chicago Bulls 86: Justin Anderson with 17 points and Jonathan Gibson scoring 14 wasn’t enough for the Mavs, with the Bulls impressed with another strong Bobby Portis day (19 points), aided by Christiano Felicio with 15 points, Jerian Grant with 13 and Denzel Valentine scoring 11.

Golden State Warriors 69  Toronto Raptors 75: Patrick McCaw had his finest Summer League performance with 28 points, but not enough against a better balanced Raptors side, led by Norman Powell with 17 points.

Cleveland Cavaliers 88  Los Angeles Lakers 80: Jordan McRae and Key Felder stole the show, with McRae scoring 36 points and Fedler helping out on a 20-point night, enough to beat D’Angelo Russell (19 points) and Brandon Ingram (13 points).
