A day of walk offs and late decisions, Jacob DeGrom putting on a pitching show that’s one of the best this season, and the teams with the three best records in the majors; San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals, losing on the same day.

Kansas City Royals 2  Detroit Tigers 4: The game was tied 2-2 in the ninth, but the Tigers got to experience the walk off win thanks to Jarrod Saltalamacchia hitting a two-run homer, his ninth of the season. This win prevented the Royals from tying the Tigers win record.

Texas Rangers 4  Chicago Cubs 1: A dominant performance by Cole Hamels, allowing only four hits in 8 innings while striking out 7, stops the losing for the Ranges at Wrigley, getting a home run from Ian Desmond and two RBIs for Robinson Chirinos.

Milwaukee Brewers 0  Cincinnati Reds 1: Both teams had just four hits, but a passed ball in the ninth by Jonathan Lucroy allowed Billy Hamilton to score and win the game.

Baltimore Orioles 2  Tampa Bay Rays 5: Two home runs from Evan Longoria (21 this season), two more from his teammates and a strong start from Jake Odorizzi amid the trade rumors dropped the Orioles, going 0-for-7 with runners in scoring positions.

Colorado Rockies 0  Atlanta Braves 1: Julio Teheran, still not traded, allowed just three hits in 7 innings, with a ninth inning single by Chase d’Arnaud giving the Braves the walk off win.

Pittsburgh Pirates 2  Washington Nationals 1: A Daniel Murphy home run in the ninth inning put the Nationals on even terms and sent the game into extra innings. Both teams used a total of 17 pitchers, and in the end, Starling Marte hit a home run in the 18th inning, followed by Jon Niese finally closing the deal in wild, weird win. The game was 12 minutes shy of lasting six hours.

New York Mets 5  Philadelphia Phillies 0: Jacob DeGrom tossed a one-hitter while walking one and striking out 7 in nine innings, while home runs from Curtis Granderson and Asdrubal Cabrera did most of the damage.

Cleveland Indians 6  Minnesota Twins 1: Josh Tomlin gets win number 10 on the back of 7.2 innings, while Mike Napoli, Tyler Naquin and Jason Kipnis hit home runs to carry him through.

Miami Marlins 6  St. Louis Cardinals 3: The Marlins got a fantastic day from their bullpen, especially Kyle Barraclough with 3 k’s in 1.2 innings, while Christian Yelich provided three RBIs and Ichiro Suzuki finished with three hits.

Chicago White Sox 1  Los Angeles Angels 8: Jered Weaver struck out just one in 7 innings, but still got the win, as Albert Pujols hit two home runs to finish with 4 RBIs, while the White Sox fell below .500 again.

Toronto Blue Jays 5  Oakland Athletics 3: Another game decided in the ninth, this time with Josh Donaldson hitting a two-RBI single followed by Roberto Osuna coming up with the save. Troy Tulowitzki hit a two-run homer earlier.

Houston Astros 8  Seattle Mariners 1: Collin McHugh had 10 strikeouts in six innings to hold off the struggling Mariners, while Carlos Gomez hit a grand slam home run and Jose Altuve hit a two-run homer himself.

Los Angeles Dodgers 5  Arizona Diamondbacks 6: A good job from Robbie Ray through 7 innings allowed the Diamondbacks to open a six nothing lead which they held on to, including Jake Lamb hitting his 21st home run of the season.

San Francisco Giants 3  San Diego Padres 5: The most unlikely sweep possible, yet it happened. A Conor Gillaspie three-run homer gave the Giants some hope, but they had just two hits the entire game, while Matt Kemp, Christian Bethancourt and Yangervis Solarte hit home runs of their own.

Boston Red Sox 1  New York Yankees 3: The Yankees avoid the sweep, with Masahiro Tanaka doing a great job in six innings, allowing 3 hits and striking out 7. Starlin Castro, Jacoby Ellsbury and Austin Romine got the offense going for the Yankees, holding Boston to just 3 hits.
