The San Francisco Giants still have the best record in the majors, despite losing four in a row, including the last one to the Boston Red Sox. The Cleveland Indians clobbered another division rival, while the New York Yankees are with a winning record after an impressive performance by Starlin Castro against the Baltimore Orioles.

Baltimore Orioles 1  New York Yankees 7: Nathan Eovaldi held the Orioles to just four hits (the O’s didn’t get any against the bullpen), Starlin Castro hit a two-run homer and finished with four RBIs, Chase Headley hit a two run homer as well.

Los Angeles Dodgers 8  Washington Nationals 4: Scott Kazmir looked great for a change, striking out 8 in 7 innings, while while Chase Utley and Yasmani Grandal hit home runs, with Reynaldo Lopez having an awful start for the Nationals.

Miami Marlins 2  Philadelphia Phillies 1: Christian Yelich did the work on offense with a home run and a game-winning RBI single in the 10th, while A.J. Ramos closed the deal with two strikeouts, making his 31st save of the season.

New York Mets 2  Chicago Cubs 1: Bigger than the game winning run the Mets got off of Rene Rivera in the 9th, was Jeurys Familia closing the win, escaping a jam, as he walked two and allowed a hit before brushing the problems aside.

Milwaukee Brewers 2  Pittsburgh Pirates 3: David Freese and Francisco Cervelli scored early for the Pirates, but after Hernan Perez tied the game up in the 9th, it was up to Josh Harrison, with a triple and then reaching home on a throwing error, getting the strange walk off hit.

San Francisco Giants 0  Boston Red Sox 4: Rick Porcello improved to 12-2 this season, allowing only 4 hits in 6.1 innings, while David Ortiz with a three-run homer did most of the damage on offense, his 23rd home run of the season.

Minnesota Twins 6  Detroit Tigers 2: A strong performance for Tommy Milone, going 8.1 innings, while a red hot Brian Dozier hit a two-run homer, and Eduardo Nunez added three RBIs with a sac fly and a single.

Atlanta Braves 5  Cincinnati Reds 4: The Braves blew a 4-2 lead in the ninth, but a sacrifice fly by Ender Inciarte gave them the lead again, followed by Mauricio Cabrera closing the game, striking out two batters in the process.

Cleveland Indians 7  Kansas City Royals 3: Danny Salazar struck out 7 in 6.2 innings, allowing 8 hits. Mike Napoli and Francisco Lindor both hit solo home runs, Carlos Santana got two RBIs off of his single.

Tampa Bay Rays 10  Colorado Rockies 1: Blake Snell threw a six-inning one-hitter while striking out 9 batters, followed by three innings of breezing through from Matt Andriese. Evan Longoria hit his 22nd home run of the season and Steve Pearce got one as well, while the Rockies didn’t do anything besides Trevor Story’s 23rd home run of the season.

Toronto Blue Jays 5  Arizona Diamondbacks 1: Edwin Encarnacion stood out with a three-run homer, which came with two outs and the Diamondbacks still in the lead. Aaron Sanchez got the win after 7 innings of work, improving to 10-1 this season.

Texas Rangers 6  Los Angeles Angels 8: Tim Lincecum had another rough day on the mound, but it didn’t matter with Albert Pujols hitting two three-run homers (overall 19 this season) and Jett Bandy helped out with a home run and two RBIs of his own.

Houston Astros 3  Oakland Athletics 4: Jose Altuve had four hits, George Springer got another home run, but it wasn’t enough as the Astros lead crumbled, leading to extra innings, and a walk off hit by Josh Reddick with a shallow single to left.

Chicago White Sox 6  Seattle Mariners 1: Jose Quintana struck out 7 in 6 innings and the bullpen followed by holding the Mariners hitless. Offense came from Todd Frazier, Melky Cabrera and Brett Lawrie, all hitting home runs.
