The Chicago Cubs keep their impressive form going, even bringing out a home run from Jason Heyward. The Toronto Blue Jays use big hitting to put some pressure on the Baltimore Orioles, the Boston Red Sox do the same, and the Washington Nationals pitching continues to be too much for the San Francisco Giants to handle.

Baltimore Orioles 5  Toronto Blue Jays 6: A big win for the Blue Jays, moving them 0.5 games behind the Orioles, opening the game with three home runs: Jose Bautista, Edwin Encarnacion and Troy Tulowitzki.

Oakland Athletics 3  Cleveland Indians 5: The Indians come back from three runs down thanks to a 4-run 7th inning, while leaning on their bullpen for a change, including a save by Cody Allen, striking out two in the process.

Houston Astros 6  Detroit Tigers 14: A big offensive day for the Tigers, including 3-run homers by Tyler Collins and Justin Upton, while James McCann hit a deep ball while pinch hitting. Matt Boyd got the win, striking out 6 in five innings.

Colorado Rockies 6  New York Mets 1: The Mets fall further away from the NL East lead (7.5 games), as Tyler Chatwood gives up only four hits in 7 innings, and home runs from Mark Reynolds and Carlos Gonzalez do the rest of the damage.

St. Louis Cardinals 11  Miami Marlins 6: Both Jeremy Hazelbaker and Tommy Pham hit two-run homers, and Mike Leake picked up the win in six innings of work, despite giving up a couple of home runs.

New York Yankees 1  Tampa Bay Rays 5: While Ivan Nova struggled in 4.1 innings of a start, Jake Odorizzi looked very good in 6.2 innings of work, not allowing a run nor a walk, striking out 5. LOgan Forsythe and Corey Dickerson hit solo home runs for run support.

Seattle Mariners 1  Chicago Cubs 12: Another blowout win for the Cubs, as Jon Lester struck out 7 in 6 innings, and the Mariners were held to 8 hits and 1-for-9 with runners in scoring positions. Jason Heyward and David Ross hit home runs, Anthony Rizzo finished with 3 RBIs, making it to 79 this season.

Philadelphia Phillies 1  Atlanta Braves 2: Both teams scored their runs in the third inning. The Phillies drew blood first, but the Braves responded with RBI singles by Gordon Beckham and Nick Markakis to get a rare win.

Kansas City Royals 3  Texas Rangers 8: The Royals lose their 8th game in the last 10, falling to four games under .500. Rougned Odor hit a couple of home runs, making it to 21 this season, while A.J. Griffin, without looking too good, got to 4-1 this season thanks to the offense.

Pittsburgh Pirates 1  Milwaukee Brewers 3: A rough loss for the Pirates, losing ground in the NL Central and the Wild Card standings. Junior Guerra was one out away from a complete game, giving up only four hits. Chris Carter with a 1st inning home run and Keon Broxton with an RBI double did the offense.

Chicago White Sox 1  Minnesota Twins 2: The Twins win with a 12th inning walk by Joe Mauer while the bases were loaded, erasing the game opening home run by Adam Eaton. Jose Quintana struck out 9 in less than 7 innings of work, but wasn’t rewarded for his work.

Boston Red Sox 6  Los Angeles Angels 2: The Red Sox move to just 1.5 games behind the Orioles in the AL East, getting home run number 17 this season from Jackie Bradley Jr., and number 13 from Xander Bogaerts. Rick Porcello, with a complete game, improved to 14-2 this season, his ERA at 3.47.

Arizona Diamondbacks 7  Los Angeles Dodgers 9: A 7-run 7th inning by the Diamondbacks put them up 7-3, but the Dodgers responded with home runs by Joc Pederson and Chase Utley, taking the lead for good off a Yasmani Grandal RBI single.

Washington Nationals 4  San Francisco Giants 1: Max Scherzer did a great job through 7 innings, holding the Giants to 5 hits and one run. Daniel Murphy, with an RBI triple, made it to 76 this season, and his fifth triple of the year.

Cincinnati Reds 6  San Diego Padres 0: Brandon Finnegan gets the win in his six-inning shutout, the Padres limited to six hits. Eugenio Suarez got four RBIs off of his two hits, Jay Bruce kept producing, and the Padres are now 15 games behind the lead in the NL West.
