SC Braga’s 2-1 win over Benfica on Sunay probably ended any small hope the champions had of catching up with FC Porto at the top of the Primeira Liga in Portugal. The most controversial moment of the match came in the 40th minute, while Benfica were leading 1-0. Alan (Braga) was pushing Javi Garcia while trying to win the ball, and while being shoved, Garcia jumped away and threw a pushing-punch at Alan. The Brazilian immediately fell to the ground and grabbed his throat instead of where the punch actually hit him, getting Garcia sent off and Braga the one man advantage the won them the game.
