The top 4 teams in major league baseball won their games, with the Cleveland Indians shutting out the Oakland Athletics, the Chicago Cubs calling on Jon Lester to safety squeeze them to victory, and the San Francisco Giants looking good in another close win over the Washington Nationals.

Baltimore Orioles 6  Toronto Blue Jays 2: The Orioles stop the losing, enjoying a late surge with two runs in the 7th inning to tie the game and four more in the 12th, including a three run homer by Adam Jones, his 20th of the season.

Seattle Mariners 6  Chicago Cubs 7: The Cubs needed a safety squeeze but from Jon Lester to score Jason Heyward and beat the Mariners, rallying back from six runs down, that included two bad throws from the Mariners in the 9th, forcing extra innings, before the walk off victory.

St. Louis Cardinals 4  Miami Marlins 5: When Stephen Piscotty hit a two-run double in the 8th, the Marlins felt like it wasn’t going to be their day. But a good inning from A.J. Ramos set up the walk off win by Derek Dietrich, hitting an RBI triple.

Oakland Athletics 0  Cleveland Indians 8: Corey Kluber served seven shutout innings, striking out 7 as well, while Mike Napoli carried on with his terrific form, hitting his 24th home run of the season, helped by Jason Kipnis with 3 RBIs.

Houston Astros 0  Detroit Tigers 11: A day of big hitting for the Tigers as they shutout the Astros, the win going to Mike Pelfrey on five innings of work. James McCann hit a grand slam home run, Miguel Cabrera hit two home runs to make it 23 this season, and Justin Upton joined the action with a solo homer of his own.

Colorado Rockies 4  New York Mets 6: When Carlos Gonzalez hit the sacrifice fly in the 7th inning, it gave the Rockies a 4-3 lead. But the Mets responded through Neil Walker, hitting a three-run homer with two outs already, before Addison Reed and Jeurys Familia closed the deal.

New York Yankees 3  Tampa Bay Rays 5: The Yankees keep giving away players and keep losing as well (4th in a row), swept in the series by the Rays. Blake Snell struck out 9 in 5.1 innings, with Brad Miller hitting his 17th home run of the season.

Philadelphia Phillies 1  Atlanta Braves 2: A two-run homer by Jeff Francoeur was enough for the win, despite an 8th inning home run by Jimmy Paredes. Both teams combined for just 11 hits.

Pittsburgh Pirates 2  Milwaukee Brewers 4: The Brewers sweep the Pirates as Jonathan Lucroy got a standing ovation from the 32,000 in attendance during his pinch hitting stint. Chris Carter hit his 24th home run of the season, Keon Broxton helped with just his second this year.

Chicago White Sox 4  Minnesota Twins 6: Ervin Santana, not traded it seems, had a nice day with 5 strikeouts in six innings, but the bulk of this win came from Brian Dozier with three hits, two of them home runs.

Kansas City Royals 3  Texas Rangers 5: The Royals lose their fourth in a row, the Rangers win their fourth straight, keeping the Royals on only 4 hits for the day, while Mitch Moreland carried on with his fantastic form, hitting a two run homer, making it to 18 this season.

Boston Red Sox 5  Los Angeles Angels 3: The Red Sox went into the 9th behind by three runs, but Mookie Betts got the first run, and then a 3-run homer by Dustin Pedroia, followed by Xander Bogaerts hitting a solo shot, saved the day.

Washington Nationals 1  San Francisco Giants 3: The Giants are getting key hitters back at the right time, winning a second straight against the Nats. Matt Cain did a good job on the mound for once, Angel Pagan carried the offense with two RBIs.

Arizona Diamondbacks 3  Los Angeles Dodgers 14: The Dodgers didn’t let Bud Norris leaving in the first inning get to them, blasting three home runs from Joc Pederson, Yasmani Grandal and Corey Seager, while trade rumors star Yasiel Puig got a couple of RBIs as well.

Cincinnati Reds 3  San Diego Padres 2: A two run homer by Jose Peraza in the 2nd inning put the Reds in front, added to that was Adam Duvall scoring on an infield single.
