There’s been a lot of focus this summer on Lionel Messi, not necessarily because of football. His new hair, the beard, his Derrick Rose jersey, and now walking his dog, all becoming hilarious memes.

His recent Instagram photo of walking with his dog while wearing a Bulls Derrick Rose jersey seems a bit cartoonish; the platinum hair helps. It reminded some people of one GTA V photo. His overall look made people think of Miley Cyrus, which is quite accurate. Others thought of Shaggy & Scooby from the Scooby Doo show. Not too far from the truth either.

Messi and Barcelona will begin their La Liga title defense on August 19, when the Spanish League begins. Barca have an earlier encounter with Sevilla, playing for the Supercopa de Espana. There’s also the Champions League and World Cup qualifications coming up, but that’s a bit later.

By the way, is Messi a Bulls or Rose fan? Not sure. This might have been a gift from Adidas, his main sponsor. And the dog? To me it looks like a Dogue de Bordeaux, but I suck at recognizing breeds.
