Texas Rangers 7 Colorado Rockies 5: The Rockies had a 5-1 lead in the 5th, but four runs in the 8th inning, including a two-RBI double by Adrian Beltre, helped the Rangers grab the lead, and Sam Dyson closed the game on the mound.
Cleveland Indians 3 Washington Nationals 1: The Indians improve their lead in the AL Central to 3.5 games, enjoying a great performance by Trevor Bauer in 6.1 innings, allowing only four hits. Two RBIs from Jose Ramirez, including a big single in the 9th, did the offensive work.
San Diego Padres 4 Pittsburgh Pirates 6: A three-run homer from Gregory Polanco in the 5th inning broke a 2-2 tie and put the Pirates on top, while Chad Kuhl impressed with a six-inning performance, giving up 5 hits and striking out 4.
Los Angeles Angels 1 Chicago Cubs 5: John Lackey has a great game, allowing only 3 hits in 8 innings, while home runs from Kris Bryant and Willson Contreras do the job on offense, Bryant making it to 28 this season.
Tampa Bay Rays 9 Toronto Blue Jays 2: Drew Smyly picked up the win for the Rays as the Blue Jays were held to 6 hits, and only 1-for-7 with runners in scoring positions. Logan Forsythe hit a solo home run for the Rays, Evan Longoria finished with 3 RBIs off a double and a single.
New York Yankees 3 Boston Red Sox 5: Boston are near Toronto and Baltimore again, getting a 6-k performance from Rick Porcello, improving to 15-3 this season. A Dustin Pedroia double tied the game after a 2-0 Yankees lead, Andrew Benintendi put them on top for good with a single on a 3-hit day for the left fielder.
Arizona Diamondbacks 5 New York Mets 3: Zack Greinke made his return to get a win with 6 strikeouts in 6 innings, a triple from Michael Bourn and a single by Paul Goldschmidt helped the Diamondbacks come from behind after a Neil Walker home run.
San Francisco Giants 0 Miami Marlins 2: The Giants lose the lead they had in the NL West, struggling against 7 innings of Tom Koehler, also striking out 6. Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna got the RBIs to improve the Marlins position in the wild card race.
Atlanta Braves 2 Milwaukee Brewers 1: Tyrell Jenkins gave up only 3 hits in six innings for the Braves, as 7th inning RBIs from Nick Markakis and Adonis Garcia gave the Braves the lead until the merry end.
Houston Astros 7 Minnesota Twins 5: Carlos Correa opened the game with a two run homer and finished with 4 RBIs, Jose Altuve finished with four hits, one RBIs and two runs and the Astros keep up with the leading pack in the Wild Card race.
Chicago White Sox 7 Kansas City Royals 5: The two most disappointing teams in the AL Central trade shots, with a three run homer by Todd Frazier (31st this season) in the 10th inning winning the game for the White Sox, although the bullpen didn’t quite make the closing inning a smooth one, allowing the Royals one run.
Cincinnati Reds 7 St. Louis Cardinals :4 The longer this season gets, the more unlikely it seems for the Cardinals to make the playoffs. Tied 4-4 in the 8th, the Reds scored 3 runs, beginning with a Tyler Holt double, while home runs by Yadier Molina and Matt Holliday didn’t help the Cards.
Baltimore Orioles 1 Oakland Athletics 2: Orioles lose a second straight game and remain tied with the Blue Jays on top of the AL East, getting only three hits against Zach Neal and the bullpen, while Danny Valencia and Khris Davis drove in runs for the A’s.
Detroit Tigers 5 Seattle Mariners 6: The red hot Mariners rely on Kyle Seager (3-run homer, 21st of the season) and Mike Zunino with the walk off single to win the game. Victor Martinez hit a 15th inning home run to put the Tigers on top, but the Mariners got the best of Francisco Rodriguez.
Philadelphia Phillies 3 Los Angeles Dodgers 9: The surging Dodgers are now tied for the lead in the NL West, getting home runs from Howie Kendrick, Yasmani Grandal and Justin Turner, hitting his 21 homer of the season.
