The Chicago Cubs keep winning, and so do the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox taking over the top two spots in the AL East. The Pittsburgh Pirates dominating the San Francisco Giants helps the Los Angeles Dodgers establish their lead in the NL West, while the St. Louis Cardinals do an excellent job of pushing themselves back into postseason pole position.

Milwaukee Brewers 1  Chicago Cubs 6: The Cubs win a third in a row over the Brewers, with home runs from Jorge Soler and David Ross, while Jon Lester had a blast in his start, giving up 3 hits in 6.2 innings, striking out 7.

Toronto Blue Jays 7  New York Yankees 4: A second straight win for the Blue Jays over the Yankees, as J.A. Happ wins his 11th straight on the mound, striking out 9 while giving up 3 home runs in 7.1 innings. Melvin Upton finally hit his first homer for the Blue Jays, leading the team with 3 RBIs.

San Diego Padres 0  Tampa Bay Rays 2: Chris Archer struck out 9 while holding the Padres to only 4 hits (5 overall) in 7.1 innings. A two-run homer by Brad Miller in the 1st inning took care of winning the game.

St. Louis Cardinals 8  Houston Astros 2: The Cardinals win their 4th in a row to position themselves better in the chase after that wild card spot, while pushing the Astros further away from it.Carlos Martinez was dominant, giving up 3 hits and one run while striking out 7, and Brandon Moss stood out with a 3-run homer, his 22nd of the season.

Washington Nationals 10  Colorado Rockies 12: The Rockies were the epitome of efficiency with 11 hits and 12 runs, including four RBIs for Gerardo Parra, as Stephen Strasburg didn’t even complete the first two innings in his worst day of the season.

Pittsburgh Pirates 6  San Francisco Giants 5: The Pirates keep the Giants stunned by their dominance at AT&T, with the visitors erasing an 0-4 deficit, taking the lead for good in the 5th with Andrew McCutchen hitting a two-run homer.

Boston Red Sox 8  Baltimore Orioles 1: The Red Sox drop the Orioles to third in the division with their 6th consecutive win, enjoying a decent mound performance from David Price for once, while Jackie Bradley Jr. hit his 20th home run of the season.

Los Angeles Dodgers 7  Philadelphia Phillies 2: The Dodgers open a 1.5 game lead in the NL West, getting a solid day from Scott Kazmir on the mound, and two home runs from Adrian Gonzalez, finishing with 5 RBIs.

Chicago White Sox 10  Cleveland Indians 7: The Indians had a 7-5 lead heading into the 9th, but Dioner Navarro got the White Sox close with an RBI single, and Adam Eaton won the game with a grand slam home run, as Cody Allen collapsed and blew the lead. David Robertson didn’t do it smoothly, but he got to pick up his 30th save.

Kansas City Royals 4  Detroit Tigers 1: The Tigers keep falling further away from the Indians and a Wild Card spot, losing their third in a row, while the Royals suddenly seem to have some hope. After the Tigers led from the 2nd inning to the 8th, the Royals woke up with home runs from Alex Gordon and Eric Hosmer to win the game.

Minnesota Twins 10  Atlanta Braves 3: The Twins win for a 2nd time in a row, getting 3 RBIs from Trevor Plouffe and two each from Brian Dozier and Juan Centero.

Miami Marlins 2  Cincinnati Reds 3: The Marlins lose two in a row, getting only six hits while the Reds made the most of their opportunities, mostly the 7th inning hit by Brandon Phillips that turned into a two-RBI play, winning the game.

Oakland Athletics 2  Texas Rangers 6: The Rangers win their third in a row, as Yu Darvish does a good job in 7 innings of work, striking out 9 batters. Jonathan Lucroy picked up 3 RBIs, hitting his 7th home run since joining the Rangers.

New York Mets 5  Arizona Diamondbacks 13: A loss that takes the Mets further away from the playoffs, giving up four home runs: Two to Yasmany Tomas who makes it to 25, two to Rickie Weeks Jr.

Seattle Mariners 4  Los Angeles Angels 3: Two runs in the 2nd, two runs in the fourth; that all it took to win the game, despite giving up four more hits than the Angels. It was quite creative too: An infield single turning into a score, two sacrifice flies, and one bunt doing the job.
