St. Louis Cardinals 2 Â Philadelphia Phillies 4:Â A strong, 8-strikeout performance by Jeremy Hellickson helped the Phillies whether the Cardinals trying to come back from falling behind twice, with a Maikel Franco RBI single and a Aaron Altherr home run bringing the winning offense after the Cards tied the game.
Miami Marlins 3 Â Pittsburgh Pirates 1:Â David Phelps allowed only two hits, 0 runs while striking out 9 batters, Fernando Rodney did a great job of closing the game and in between, two RBIs by Xavier Scruggs carried the team on offense.
Oakland Athletics 2 Â Chicago White Sox 6:Â Chris Sale put in his best performance in a while, striking out 8 in 8 while holding the A’s scoreless in his time on the mound, while Jose Abreu hit a home rand and Melky Cabrera helped out with 2 RBIs.
Toronto Blue Jays 6 Â Cleveland Indians 5:Â The Blue Jays hang on to the top spot in the AL East, grabbing the lead with 5th inning home run from Edwin Encarnacion, and riding that lead until the end, getting the save from Roberto Osuna in the end.
Washington Nationals 11 Â Atlanta Braves 9:Â Max Scherzer wasn’t great, but decent enough to let the Nationals offense get the job done, with home runs from Trea Turner, Ryan Zimmerman and Daniel Murphy. Scherzer did well at the plate with a couple of hits and RBIs.
Los Angeles Dodgers 1 Â Cincinnati Reds 11:Â The Dodgers lose their third in a row, with Brett Anderson getting destroyed early. Brandon Finnegan took a no-hitter to the 7th inning, finishing with one hit allowed and two walks while striking out 8 in 7 of work.
Minnesota Twins 0 Â Kansas City Royals 10:Â The Royals keep advancing, now just 4.5 games behind the wild card. They’ve won 7 in a row, this time making the most of Ian Kennedy pitching an 8-inning shutout, getting their offense from Alex Gordon, hitting two home runs, and Lorenzo Cain with 3 RBIs.

Boston Red Sox 3 Â Detroit Tigers 2:Â The Red Sox keep the Tigers away from the wild card spots while making sure they don’t lose sight of the Blue Jays on top of the AL East, as David Ortiz hit home run number 532 of his career, and Drew Pomeranz actually earned a win in five innings of work.
Arizona Diamondbacks 2 Â San Diego Padres 1:Â Robbie Ray stops the losing with a 13-strikeout performance and overall holding the Padres to just 3 hits. Rickie Weeks grounding out in the 6th inning actually gave the Diamondbacks their opening to score the winning run.
Milwaukee Brewers 2 Â Seattle Mariners 8:Â Felix Hernandez gave up two runs in 8 innings but also struck out 8, improving his win-loss record to 8-4 this season, his ERA dropping to 3.26. Offense came from Mike Zunino with a home run and 3 RBIs, and Norichika Aoki getting 3 hits and 2 RBIs.
New York Yankees 5 Â Los Angeles Angels 1:Â Things are going pretty well for the Yankees while starting young players, as Luis Cessa strikes out 5 while allowing only 3 hits in his first major league start. Gary Sanchez hit a home run, while both Brian McCann and Aaron Judge got a couple of RBIs.
