The Milwaukee Bucks’ Embarrassing Night in Boston Against the Celtics

Maybe it was the timezone, daylight savings and fatigue. Doc Rivers: “You Could See they were tired. We took advantage and that was great, but a lot of it had to with their schedule.”

It was also some amazing defense from the Celtics, probably the best defense in the league when they’re up for it. Boston beat the Bucks 87-56, allowing only 9 first quarter points. Both Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo finished with 3 steals as they just cut the Bucks’ passing lanes time and time again. This was the lowest scoring night for the Bucks in franchise history. It was also the fewest points allowed by the Celtics in franchise history, the fewest scored against them since 1955, playing the Milwaukee Hawks.

As Bucks head coach, Scott Skiles put it: That’s about as humiliating a defeat as you’ll ever see. They got us on our heels and took our competitive fight away from us. We pretty much just gave into it.

The Bucks shot 31% from the field and were out rebounded 50-32. Their top scorer was Earl Barron with 10 points off the bench. Ray Allen led the Celtics (47-17) with 17 points.
