The bats were working this time, unlike the 2-5 loss on Tuesday. Josh Beckett, like with all his games against the Yankees, was dominant, and came out on top, making it 4-0 for against their AL East rivals, with a 1.85 ERA in 5 starts against them. The Red Sox now have a 1.5 game lead.

Sabathia Finally Manages to Win (Yankees vs Red Sox)
CC Sabathia is 17-3 with a 2.40 ERA this season, when facing anyone but the Red Sox. Against Boston? Well, after the 5-2 win in Fenway park, making it 3-13 in the Red Sox’s favor this year (that bad, huh?). Until this win, Sabathia was 0-4 against Boston this year, with a terrible 7.40 ERA.

Baseball Games Shouldn’t Be This Long (Yankees vs Red Sox)
Yeah, so the Boston Red Sox got a one game lead in the AL East. Rookie Josh Reddick got the game ending single, driving home David Ortiz. Mariano Rivera blew the save, which was probably the most amazing thing about this game, leaving Phil Hughes to complete the self destruct mode and complete the Boston comeback. At that point, four hours and 15 minutes since I started watching the game, I really didn’t care anymore.

Baseball Can Be Boring
I guess a rainy day at Fenway with no Baseball to watch is a pretty good way to catch some sleep time. Is life in Boston that boring?
