The most impressive performance from anyone in the opening weekend of the Premier League as Chelsea beat Burnley 3-1, getting a debut goal for Diego Costa for his new team, while Cesc Fabregas set up the next two goals, finding Andre Schurrle (with a genius assist) and Branislav Ivanovic to seal the win before the half time whistle.

An opening match that looked a lot like the one from last season for Liverpool, coming away with a 2-1 win over Southampton thanks to a late winner from Daniel Sturridge. Raheem Sterling scored first but Nathaniel Clyne made things very interesting with a second half equalizer.

Cristiano Ronaldo & Angel di Maria Are Ready (Fiorentina vs Real Madrid)
Despite the 2-1 loss, Real Madrid should feel quite confident as they head into the new La Liga season, getting another goal from Cristiano Ronaldo. Strikes from Mario Gomez and Marcos Alonso gave Fiorentina the win, but it was one of those preseason friendlies in which the result wasn’t the most important thing.

Match Highlights – Manchester United vs Swansea
Not the start Louis van Gaal and Manchester United were hoping for in the 2014-2015 season, losing at Old Trafford to Swansea for the first time in the Premier League. An early goal from Ki-Sung Yeung showed it was going to be a tough day for the hosts, but Wayne Rooney scoring an equalizer brought the hope level back up. Gylfi Sigurdsson, making his return with the Welsh club, ended those hopes of three points on the opening weekend.

Some things don’t change. Bayern Munich looked bad against Borussia Dortmund, just like they in every encounter between the teams last season. Goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave the team hosting the German Super Cup a 2-0 win, although it doesn’t say anything about the upcoming Bundesliga season.

Favorites to win the Premier League title or something along these lines, Chelsea beat Real Sociedad in their final warm up to the new Premier League season; a 2-0 victory coming with two quick goals from Diego Costa, feeling quite comfortable on his home debut at Stamford Bridge.
