Kobe Bryant couldn’t help himself but continue and throw over 20 shots, limiting himself to “only” 22 field goal attempts and 14 points, making only 7 of his shots. For once this season, he gave up on the tough last shot, finding Derek Fisher who hit the winning three pointer win 3 second to go, beating the Dallas Mavericks 73-70.

Paul Makes Clippers Better Team Than Lakers Despite Bryant
Kobe Bryant is pretty much unstoppable right now, and so were the Lakers over the last 10 days, until they met the Los Angeles Clippers. Bryant may be scoring over 40 points a game this past week, but the Clippers, with an one fire Chris Paul (33 points) are simply the best team in LA right now, winning 102-94.

Overtime Doesn’t Treat Miami Heat Kindly
Another West Coast game going to overtime, and the Miami Heat lost again. This time the Los Angeles Clippers, with Chris Paul leading the charge (27 points, 11 assists) as Dwyane Wade lost his second straight game since returning from injury while the entire team struggled with scoring.

Nate Robinson, pretty much a forgotten man. Did OK for the Celtics, hardly used by the Thunder before getting cut a day before the season began. Now? 24 points, 17 of them in the fourth quarter and overtime to stun the Miami Heat, leading the Golden State Warriors to a 111-106 win.

Bulls Keep Winning With Best Defense in the NBA
Derrick Rose didn’t need to stay on the floor for the finish, and Luol Deng, on his worst night of the season with only 4 points and 2-12 from the field hardly played in the final quarter. Hosting the Detroit Pistons, getting a 92-68 win over a terrible team is a great way for the Chicago Bulls to start their nine games in 12 days roller coaster.

Thunder & Durant Not Troubled by Fatigue
Kevin Durant got to rest in the fourth quarter, finishing the 3 games in 3 nights with 3 wins for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who made easy work of the San Antonio Spurs with a 37-21 third quarter. James Harden added 20 off the bench in another fantastic game for the best sixth man in the NBA.

Chris Bosh is the lesser of the big three. That’s just life. But if a six time All-Star is your third best player, then I guess the Miami Heat can handle a night without both LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. They certainly looked capable of handling the load, beating the Atlanta Hawks in a triple overtime game 116-109.
