For the second time, the College Football Playoff committee has released its rankings, which feature one significant change: Oregon of the Pac-12 breaking into the top 4, pushing out Alabama, while Mississippi State (number one), Florida State (number two) and Auburn (number three) are in front. 2014 College Football Season – Week 10 BCS Standings
The hypothetical BCS standings for week 10 of the 2014 College Football season are out without much of a chance. Mississippi State and Florida State occupy the top two spots while Auburn and Alabama complete the final four with another threesome of SEC West teams.

2014 College Football Season – Week 10 Rankings
Not too many changes up the top 25 of College Football through week 10, as Mississippi State and Florida State continue to occupy the top two spots. Below them things change, especially due to Auburn beating Ole Miss. The Tigers are now up to number three, while the Rebels fall down to #12, possibly taking them out of contention for the college football playoffs.

Oregon Ducks – Finally Stanford Doesn’t Get in the Way
Maybe this is the season Oregon finally reclaim their Pac-12 title and find themselves in the playoffs for the national College Football title. Stanford stood in their way for the last couple of seasons, but in 2014, things are different, as the Ducks were led by Marcus Mariota in a 45-16 route, leaving no doubt about the current balance of power in the conference.

Mississippi State Over Arkansas – Just Enough to Stay Number One
The road to the top was filled with impressive, dominant victories. Keeping the number one spot in College football is more about doing whatever it takes to win. Mississippi State didn’t make it easy or pretty, but they did enough to remain undefeated, beating Arkansas 17-10.
-
Florida Over Georgia – No Quarterback is the Way to go
Instead of Will Muschamp getting axed, Florida found new life in the logic of not using a quarterback, instead sticking strictly to running the ball on the ground. It might not have been pretty, but it was extremely effective in a 38-20 win over Georgia, making a very big change in the title chances of teams in the SEC East.
-
Auburn Over Ole Miss – SEC West Shaken Up Real Good
So much of the nation’s attention when it comes to College Football this season is focused on what happens in the SEC West, as Auburn change the picture of the division, coming away with a big 35-31 win over Ole Miss thanks to a late touchdown by Cameron Artis-Payne, probably knocking the Rebels out of contention for a playoff spot.
-
College Football – Same Three Undefeated Teams Remain
No change when it comes to the remaining undefeated teams in College Football through week 10 of the 2014 season (Mississippi State, Florida State, Marshall), but due to other results, there’s no doubt the playoff picture and eventually the committee rankings are going to see a shift in the top 4.
-
Florida State Over Louisville – The Road to the Playoffs is Clear
This Florida State team Jimbo Fisher assembled and led by Jameis Winston is special. They’re drowning in off the field controversy, but it’s not stopping them from leaping over every formidable hurdle on their way to another ACC title and probably making the College Football Playoffs, remaining undefeated after a big comeback win at Louisville.

2014 College Football Season – Week 9 BCS Standings
The BCS doesn’t exist anymore, and it’s actually quite a shame considering it’s perfect for a College Football playoff system. After week 9 has come and gone, here’s a look at how it would have been if it would have still be used to determine the standings and the best teams in the nation.
