Manchester United – Still Chasing Robin van Persie
It’s been relatively quiet on the Van Persie front in recent days. He never announced anything, but the Dutch striker seems to be happy with the way things are going in Arsenal and their signings (and future ones) this summer, which hasn’t stopped Manchester United from trying to sign the Premier League’s top scorer last season.

Blaming Wayne Rooney for England’s Euro 2012 Exit
Instead of going after Roy Hodgson or the English FA, it looks like Wayne Rooney is the new scapegoat for yet another English failure at a major tournament, this time Euro 2012. It’s easier than talking about tactics or the head. Blaming Rooney, Manchester United and Alex Ferguson is always easy.

Euro 2012 – Day 12 Summary (England vs Ukraine, Sweden vs France)
Euro 2012 took the final step of the group stage with a lot of drama, as England hanged on to an undeserved 1-0 lead after Wayne Rooney scored on his tournament debut while John Terry saved a goal that would have been allowed if we had goal line technology. Aftermath of the City – United Manchester Derby
Roberto Mancini did an excellent job of picking up his players from their horrendous late March – early April collapse. Having Wolves on the schedule is always nice, but instead of folding the title race, City just turned up the pressure on Manchester United, culminating in their 1-0 derby win that puts them back at the top of the table.

Wayne Rooney – Wrist Breaker
Wayne Rooney didn’t score in Manchester United’s comfortable 5-0 win over Wolves, but there’s no doubt that he’s rebounded this season after a troublesome 2010-2011 campaign. He has scored 20 league goals for United in 25 matches, leading the way to what might be a fifth league title in six years. But at least he did get some damage done at Wolverhampton.

Alex Ferguson & Manchester United Doing it Again
Alex Ferguson always talks about hitting the stride around late February, pulling into March, April and May in full force. You can drop point earlier on, but it’s important to be at your best in the months that matter. Manchester United, beating WBA 2-0 and climbing to the top of the Premier League at the expense of Manchester City, are doing exactly that.
