Day 3 of the 2014 World Cup will also be the longest one with four matches taking place. World Cup – Group C Predictions

Although some might consider Group C to be the weakest among the eight in the 2014 World Cup, it is also one of the most difficult to predict with a wide open race for the two qualifying spots, as the Ivory Coast, Colombia and Japan hold the promise of some very exciting football, while Greece will be there as usual to spoil it for everyone.

  • Euro 2012 – Day 11 Summary (Croatia vs Spain, Italy vs Ireland)

The Italians, for once, got the result they needed with a 2-0 win over the sympathetic Irish team, who were simply outplayed and outmatched in every single match they had in Group C, while Spain hung in there with a tough Croatian team before scoring a late goal that put them on top of their group and into the quarterfinals.

Two questions heading into the final day in Group C – Will Spain and Croatia strike a ‘dirty deal’ to get a draw that will eliminate Italy from the picture, and can the Italian offense finally show more than a goal a match, against an Ireland defense that has conceded more than anyone so far in Euro 2012?

Fernando Torres came out as the big star and winner of the day, scoring twice to lead Spain in their impressive 4-0 thrashing of Ireland, while Italy were probably filled with questions about how they let Croatia come back from behind to end their clash in a 1-1 draw, in another fantastic day of football in Euro 2012.

  • Euro 2012 – Day 7 Predictions (Italy vs Croatia, Spain vs Ireland)

Completing a week of Euro 2012 football, Italy will take it’s defensive style and try to tweak and upgrade it a little after surviving the Spanish encounter, hoping to get their first ever win over Croatia. Spain, probably sticking to their 4-6-0 formation, will hope Ireland are as weak as the first match suggested.

  • Euro 2012 – Day 3 Summary (Spain vs Italy, Ireland vs Croatia)

Italy, as always, were too tough of a nugget for Spain to beat, displaying a strong defense that was good enough to draw with the usual elegant passing of the Spanish midfield (1-1). The later match provided a bit more goals due to the quality differences between Croatia and Ireland, as Mario Mandzukic became the second brace scorer in Euro 2012.

  • Fernando Torres Still Can’t Score (Spain vs Italy)

It’s hard playing football, not matter how talented your midfielders are, without a natural striker. But maybe Fernando Torres shouldn’t be Spain’s striker, missing two huge opportunities late in the match, as Italy held the European champions to a 1-1 draw in the Group C opener.
