With the New England Patriots clearly going in a different direction, choosing not to re-sign Julian Edelman up until now, it seems the wide receiver/punt returner will play the 2013 NFL season for a new team, as the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans seem like the likeliest of options.

When you look only at the numbers, there might be better receivers out there than Julian Edelman, who hasn’t played much for the New England Patriots since entering the NFL four seasons ago. But the Houston Texans don’t need a stud, they already have Andre Johnson. They just need someone to take the pressure off.
