Duke Blue Devils – Ryan Kelly Brings Them Back on Top
After two losses coming in less than two weeks, the Duke road to the number one spot in the nation seemed closed. It still probably is, at least for another week, but getting Ryan Kelly back with a career-like performance, while beating Miami, the best team in the ACC so far this season, is probably good enough to feel happy about what they’ve done.

After Indiana lost to Minnesota, the debate was about how Duke or Gonzaga will be the number one team in the nation, and who deserves it more. Virginia, with a huge night from Joe Harris, made sure it’s no longer a question.

The only thing missing in the big parity circle of the Big Ten basketball season was for Penn State to beat someone. Fortunately for them, and unfortunately for Michigan, that win eventually came, meaning the every team in the best conference in College basketball has lost to someone in it this season.

Penn State Nittany Lions – No Longer Winless in the Big Ten
The joke this season has been mostly this – The Big Ten is the best conference in basketball, by far, except for Penn State, who were held winless in conference play until they hosted Michigan, who have looked pretty bad on the road this season and are slipping down the rankings since reaching number one.

College Football – Best Games to Look Forward to in 2013
Preseason predictions aren’t worth much once the season starts, but it never hurts getting excited way ahead of time. While the biggest game of the season usually presents itself only after a few weeks and story lines have unfolded, with Alabama playing Texas A&M, Oregon travelling to Stanford and Georgia clashing with Clemson on the opening weekend seem to be the biggest early attractions.

It hasn’t been an easy week for Davante Gardner, getting benched by Buzz Williams in the previous game and coming off the bench against Syracuse. The “punishment” worked, and Gardner led Marquette to a big win while enjoying the best game of his career.

Few players get criticized as much as Elijah Johnson during his senior season, and while the actions of the final moments during regulation as Kansas pulled away for a win at the very difficult Iowa State weren’t acceptable by everyone, Johnson’s huge game and contribution to the win was never in doubt.
