It was difficult to understand why the referee kept adding minutes to injury time while Nottingham Forest were tearing West Ham to shreds in the biggest upset of the FA Cup third round mostly because of the 5-0 win, and not the disparity between the leagues, as Djamel Abdoun and Jamie Paterson put on quite a performance.

The superiority of Arsenal over their biggest rivals, Tottenham, continues, beating Spurs 2-0 with a solid performance, enjoying an opening goal from Santi Cazorla and a second half clincher from Tomas Rosicky.

Match Highlights – Manchester United vs Tottenham
All the talk about Manchester United getting back into the title race seems premature as they lose for a second consecutive time to Tottenham at the Old Trafford, suddenly becoming their most difficult fixture. Emmanuel Adebayor and Christian Eriksen did an excellent job in finishing counter attacks before a quick Danny Welbeck goal and immense pressure from the home side created late drama, but nothing more.

A fantastic first half from Chelsea was enough for them to further sink Liverpool in the title race, claiming a 2-1 win with goals from Eden Hazard and Samuel Eto’o despite Martin Skrtel scoring the opening goal.

An awful refereeing performance from Lee Mason helped Manchester City claim another home win over one of their title contenders, beating Liverpool 2-1 thanks to first half goals from Vincent Kompany and Alvaro Negredo, countering the opening strike from Philippe Coutinho, and lucky enough to avoid a disallowed Raheem Sterling goal and a clear penalty on Luis Suarez.

Somehow, Manchester United are climbing back up the table with a win that reminded everyone of days some thought were gone, coming back from two goals down thanks to a brilliant goal and performance from Wayne Rooney, eventually enjoying James Chester scoring an own goal to decide a 3-2 win over Hull City.

Match Highlights – Arsenal vs Chelsea
The London derby had pace, chances, rain and a lot of fouls. It didn’t have goals, or enough bravery, especially from Chelsea, deciding that a 0-0 draw is quite alright with them. Arsenal were the better side and probably the more dangerous as the match dragged on, but not enough to make a real difference.

Just like the two teams they’re chasing, Real Madrid conceded two goals and still made it out of Valencia with the 3-2 win thanks to a dramatic goal from the substitute Jese, finishing the job Angel di Maria and Cristiano Ronaldo started.
