We don’t need polls anymore to tell us who the national champions are; Ohio State won the College Football Playoff and that’s it. But the top 25 to close the 2014 season does tell us that behind the two finalists (Buckeyes and Oregon), TCU “jumped” the losers of the semifinal (Alabama and Florida State) while Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Georgia and UCLA enjoyed great bowl games, propelling them into the top 10.

College Football Playoff – Final Committee Rankings
The final rankings posted by the College Football Playoff committee put Alabama, Oregon, Florida State and Ohio State (ranked by that order) in the playoff and a chance to win the national championship, with the Rose Bowl hosting the semifinal between the Ducks and the Seminoles, while the Sugar Bowl will be the venue for the meeting between the Crimson Tide and the Buckeyes.

According to the hypothetical BCS rankings following Week 14 in College Football, the playoff will be made up of number one Alabama, followed by Florida State, Oregon and TCU. No two-SEC teams, that’s not going to happen, and maybe even more interesting to see is Ohio State falling behind the top 4. Playing in a championship game and winning the Big Ten might change that.
