Oscar Wonder Goal Doesn’t Help in Champions League Opener (Chelsea vs Juventus)
For a short while, it looked like Oscar was having a dream debut in the Champions League, scoring two first half goals, including one perfect and memorable one to give Chelsea a 2-goal lead. Alas, Juventus were serious when they declared they were coming to Stamford Bridge to score, coming back with an Arturo Vidal goal and later on a Fabio Quagliarella equalizer in the second half, endning the match at 2-2.

Cristiano Ronaldo Isn’t Sad Anymore (Real Madrid vs Manchester City)
The Spanish champions, Real Madrid, were on the ropes twice. Once it was Marcelo, enjoying a nice bounce off a Manchester City defender. Than it was Karim Benzema with a splendid goal. And then it was Cristiano Ronaldo, lucky to have Vincent Kompany lower his head, with a winner that means so much more than just a regular 3-2 win.

Goal Line Technology – Everton & Victor Anichebe get Robbed
Once again, the need for goal line technology and not just human eyes of referees and linesmen was proven, this time at Goodison Park. Everton failed to beat Newcastle (2-2), having two perfectly fine goals, one by Marouane Fellaini (for an offside that wasn’t there), the other by Victor Anichebe (ball did cross the line), disallowed or simply go unnoticed.

Manchester United – Celebration of Old (Giggs & Scholes) and New (Buttner & Powell)
A day of celebrating milestones and debut goals at Old Trafford, as Manchester United romped to a 4-0 win over Wigan, scoring everything in the second half. Paul Scholes scored the opener on his 700th appearance for Manchester United; Ryan Giggs played in his 600th Premier League match; Alexander played and scored on his debut.

Robin Van Persie Hat Trick Saves Manchester United at Southampton
Another less than impressive performance by Manchester United, but when you have the best striker in the Premier League, it doesn’t really matter. Robin van Persie finished with a hat trick and missed a penalty kick, giving Alex Ferguson another dramatic injury time win in his 1000th league match as the Red Devils manager.

Santi Cazorla & Lukas Podolski Enjoy First Anfield Visit (Liverpool vs Arsenal)
Three matches into the 2012-2013 season, and Brendan Rodgers still doesn’t have a win to his name, with Liverpool falling at home to Arsenal 0-2 with two Santi Cazrola – Lukas Podolski counter attacking goals, and Arsene Wenger finally sees a win from his players this season while not picking out a single ball from their net.

Luis Suarez Free Kick Goal Isn’t Enough For Victory (Liverpool vs Manchester City)
It began with Martin Skrtel scoring a goal and ended with the same man setting up a goal for Carlos Tevez, ending the entertaining match between Liverpool and Manchester City with a 2-2 draw, with Luis Suarez looking great and scoring a fantastic free kick goal while Yaya Toure also got on the score-sheet to equalize for the first time.

Robin van Persie Scores His First Goal in Style (Manchester United vs Fulham)
It was supposed to be a little bit easier for Manchester United in their first home game of the season, hosting Fulham, but eventually, it came down to David de Gea making some saves to keep United’s 3-2 lead alive till the end off of debut goals for Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa to highlight the win.
