The long wait is over, and Mississippi State, getting a huge game from quarterback Dak Prescott, finally have a win over a ranked team and especially LSU, beating the Tigers 34-29 on the road, something that hasn’t happened in over 20 years, handing the number 8 team in the nation their first loss of the season while staying undefeated themselves.

College Football – Rankings & Playoff Picture Keeps Changing
The interesting thing so far about this College Football season has been the ability of the top five or six teams so far – Florida State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Alabama, Oregon and Texas A&M, to distance themselves through the rankings from the pretenders to the playoff spots, as LSU become the latest team to suffer a surprising loss which sets them back quite harshly.

LSU Over Wisconsin – Nothing Changes in Nonconference SEC Dominance
In Anthony Jennings, LSU at least have someone competent at the quarterback position, which helped them overcome a 17-point deficit to come away with a 28-24 win over Wisconsin, who might have the best running game in the nation thanks to Melvin Gordon and the offensive line, but also have to deal with the deficiencies of Tanner McEvoy.

LSU Beats Iowa – Jeremy Hill Couldn’t be Stopped
Unlike some predictions, Iowa were able to hang in there with LSU for most of the Outback Bowl. However, their defense couldn’t grab a hold of Jeremy Hill, running for two touchdowns and 216 yards, leading the Tigers to the 21-14 win.

Texas A&M vs LSU – Johnny Manziel Doesn’t Get a Happy Ending
The season still isn’t over, but there isn’t anything for Texas A&M or LSU left to achieve besides win some respect points and improve their place in the BCS standings, hoping it’ll somehow earn them an at-large bid, no matter how unlikely. By shutting down Johnny Manziel for a second straight year, the Tigers at least got themselves a game in which Zach Mettenberger looks better than an elite quarterback.

After three huge meetings between Alabama and LSU, at least in terms of consequence, the 2013 edition of the best game the SEC West usually has to offer wasn’t very close or dramatic, as A.J. Even though the USC Trojans football program is going through some hardships, it proves that in terms of providing talent to the NFL it reigns, producing the most NFL players on the rosters that kicked off the season with 40, followed by LSU who sent 39, a surprising Miami team with 38 and followed by Georgia with 36.
