Robin Van Persie completed the Player of the year award double, getting the Football Writers’ recognition two days after bestowed the some honor by the PFA. He is the second player in three years (Wayne Rooney in 2010) to complete the award double.

Robin Van Persie won the PFA’s Players’ Player of the year for the 2011-2012 season in the Premier League, while Kyle Walker of Tottenham picked up the award for young player of the year, a rarity for a defender. Petr Cech wasn’t that busy, but he kept his good form in another match in which Chelsea didn’t look to interested in winning, not having the fortune of having Drogba to poach a goal. Arsenal had their moments, but in general, it was a very disappointing 0-0 draw in the London derby, with Tottenham and Newcastle enjoying the goalless affair.

Kenny Dalglish has done a bad job this season at Liverpool. Most would agree that if it was someone else at the helm, say, Roy Hodgson, he would have been fired already. And Roy Hodgson was fired. Instead, director of football Damien Comolli, 16 months after into the job, left his position, reaching the decision, reportedly, by mutual consent.
