Grizzlies Over Thunder – The Right Kind of Basketball
In a game 2 that was a lot more like the previous postseason meetings between the two teams, the Memphis Grizzlies took home court advantage away from the Oklahoma City Thunder thanks to a 111-105 overtime win which included a huge game from both Zach Randolph and Mike Conley, while Kevin Durant going wild in the fourth quarter wasn’t enough for a team that simply doesn’t play the right way.

NBA Playoffs – Game 2 Predictions (Grizzlies vs Thunder, Warriors vs Clippers)
The weekend is over, so it means less busy days of playoff games, and better focus on each one. San Antonio Spurs – Getting Away With One
The San Antonio Spurs almost let an entire season of work slip away from them against a team they haven’t lost to in more than two years, but the Dallas Mavericks froze in the fourth quarter, like they did in the first, falling apart in the end and losing 85-90, finding no answer to Tim Duncan and Tony Parker taking things to a different level in the fourth quarter.

Wizards Over Bulls – Nothing Special About Game 1 Upsets
We’ve gotten used to the road win taking home court advantage in these playoffs, and the Washington Wizards beating the Chicago Bulls in the series opener was no different from the trend, taking a 102-93 win thanks to a strong finish with an excellent performance from Nene and an overall great effort on the glass.

Miami Heat – A Bumpy Title Defense Start
No more illusions about a piece of cake couple of first rounds before the “real” playoffs begin. The Miami Heat beat the Charlotte Bobcats 99-88 with solid performances from LeBron James and Dwyane Wade but especially great runs sparked by the bench and James Jones to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

NBA Playoffs – Game 1 Predictions (Mavericks vs Spurs, Blazers vs Rockets)
A little taste of history in the series out West that continue the NBA playoffs, as the San Antonio Spurs meet a very familiar playoff foe in the Dallas Mavericks, while the Houston Rockets face the last team they’ve managed to beat in a postseason series, the Portland Trail Blazers.
-
Indiana Pacers – Embarrassing on Both Ends of the Floor
The theory that things will magically get better once the playoffs begin for the Indiana Pacers was proven wrong by the surprising Atlanta Hawks and especially Jeff Teague, leading the #8 seed in the East to a 101-93 win in game 1 to take away home court advantage.
