Boston Celtics – Great to Have Rajon Rondo Back
It’s not like he was gone a long time; Rajon Rondo was only suspended for two games. Still, the Boston Celtics did lose twice in the 2.5 games he missed, so having him back for yet another double double (his 11th of the season) was pretty good news to have, while Kevin Garnett his best imitation of a tough guy against his former team.

Los Angeles Lakers – It Simply Isn’t Working
Pau Gasol is once again on the trading block. Kobe Bryant isn’t happy, and unlike girls who just got dumped, he feeds his depression by taking a huge amount of field goals. Dwight Howard can’t make the Los Angeles Lakers good on defense or become a remotley decent free throw shooter. Mike D’Antoni is trying to manage something a bit over his head.

Houston Rockets – Not Only About James Harden & Jeremy Lin
For once, it wasn’t about the two big names for the Houston Rockets this season. James Harden and Jeremy Lin took a step back, or simply had a very rough night, while Greg Smith and Toney Douglas got their moment in the spotlight as the next teams that sends the Los Angeles Lakers project of megalomania spiraling down into an abyss.

Oklahoma City Thunder – Russell Westbrook Loses to Deron Williams, Kevin Durant Wins
While the point guard battle between Russell Westbrook and Deron Williams probably drew most of the individual attention in the game, there was simply no player on the floor quite like Kevin Durant. The man is in better shape than anyone else in the NBA right now, and was the main reason the Oklahoma City Thunder won for a sixth straight time.

LeBron James – Yes to Triple Double, no to Clutch
Yes, it can begin. LeBron James, for the first time this season, missed not one but two potentially game winning shots, which made his first triple double in 2012-2013 look that much more redundant as the Miami Heat left Washington scratching their heads as to how exactly they lost to the Washington Wizards.

Los Angeles Clippers – Blake Griffin Finally Brings His Best
If you look only at the stats, Blake Griffin was having a quiet, maybe even disappointing season thus far. Averaging “only” 17.5 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, Griffin improved, or worked on improving others things. In a tough away game, against a team that hasn’t lost at home this season, the star of the Los Angeles Clippers finally had a his big moment of 2012-2013.

Byron Mullens With the Best Dunk of the NBA Season
We’re only about a month into the new NBA season, but it’s never too soon handing out awards that get updated as we go along. This time? Dunk of the season, which as of last night, belongs to Byron Mullens of the Charlotte Bobcats, with a nasty throw down in the face of LaMarcus Aldridge.

Hottest Players in the NBA Right Now
Entering the second month of the 2012-2013 NBA Season, we take a look at the five players who have been on a roll, along with their teams, over the last few games. Obvious names: Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony couldn’t be ignored, but James Harden enjoying his new life in Houston and even David West with the improving Indiana Pacers have done enough recently to warrant a mention.

Los Angeles Lakers – Inconsistency & Terrible Defense
Is Dwight Howard not raising his game to the level that’s needed from him? Is Pau Gasol really that bad, or is it just Mike D’Antoni and his system that’s ruining him? Should someone tell Kobe Bryant that the Los Angeles Lakers don’t win when he scores so many points? Is Steve Nash the thing that they’re actually missing?

New York Knicks – Carmelo Anthony & Home Perfection
While the New York Knicks have began to show some cracks in their armor of perfection, especially with Jason Kidd being unable to play, things are going well at home, for both the team and Carmelo Anthony, improving to 7-0 at the Madison Square Garden this season.
